Don't always use pop reports to estimate how easy a card is to grade. Remember that people screen cards before they send them. How many did people hold back from sending due to issues?

Yep. And, as mentioned, the flaw on most copies of this card is with one of the top corners, and due to the dark background it's easy to spot. So many don't get subbed.

These are likely the ones selling raw on eBay too.

Probably. Although the typical copy is still NM-Mt+. I think PSA 9's deserve a little higher premium than they're getting. I think most raw ones would grade 8 or 8.5

I had 55 NNO - of those - 23 went to PSA - 15 were gem, 7 9’s and 1 8

So 27% success rate - all 55 were pack pulled and most had a top right corner defect

You opened enough S2 that you pack-pulled 55 copies of an SP'd card?! Good lord, man! You still have the 15 gems?

This is almost exactly the same rate I've experienced.

PSA 9s do seem soft right now, to me. That might be the play.

I bought a lot of 5 raw and Im hoping at least two of them are sharp...

No idea. I cleaned it (microfibre cloth) and looked it over and it seemed fine. Must’ve been a scratch I missed.

I have each Vlad card from each level graded BGS 9.5 (Advanced Rookie Bluefield, A Lansing, AA New Hampshire, AAA Buffalo).

Yep, I realized that after I made the comment and mentioned it in another post. For sapphire, 86% might even be low when you factor in how many may not have been sent in.

There was a request in another thread to see my Vlad Bowman Sterling blue. So I figured I’d also show the superfractor.

Beautiful cards. The super is king but that blue is so much prettier.

Value aside, Bowman Sterling has to be his nicest RC. The Super is just...SUPER.

Yeah, that’s why in the Tatis thread I’ve asked whether people think Sterling can regain some of the clout it had before being discontinued five years ago. Sterling rookies are strong for Trout, Altuve, and Harper, and somewhat for Yelich, Arenado, Machado and Mookie. Why not for the Class of 2019?

I’d say this set is as nice as any of the previous Sterlings. And really as nice, or nicer than, any other ‘19 release.

short answer? Plenty of other options. Some would say too many.

in 2020, sadly, base cards are struggling
