oh ok, youre just saying its different not better. so you would take hardens 38 points and 24 shots over jordans 37 points on 28 shots.

Jordan would absolutely average more ppg if he played during this era.

Not only the lack of the hand check, but giving him 9+ 3 point attempts per game. Back then taking over 5 3's a night would almost be a death sentence with your coach and land you on the bench. Now you'll get scolded if you don't jack it up enough.

That's besides the point though. What they both did during their respective eras is ridiculously impressive.

No, I would take the guy who was 6-0 in NBA Finals. That guy who also delivered in the playoffs. Was even better in the playoffs. Harden? Not as good.

so now were doing a lifetime achievment award? yeah of course i would take jordan. i was never saying harden is better then jordan. its just completely stupid to call out harden for how much he shoots when hes scoring more and taking less shots then the goat did in his best scoring season. nothing more nothing less. i just hate double standards.

Someone would have clotheslined Harden by now.

PJ Tucker and Laimbeer would have simultaneously DDT'd each other before that ever happened.

While Andrew Bynum sits on the sideline in disappointment. Or probably just not caring at all, really.

Exactly. The increased pace and approach to today's game is evident. The amount of triple doubles has been ridiculous. The explosion of 3pt attempts and from every position. Chuck it up and it's like an alternate ending to John Starks in the Finals...Either it's historically good or bad.

All impressive numbers though. And for those loving on Harden and need to shout it from the rooftops...not everyone loved Jordan either so embrace what sports fans do well

This is true. For his first ten seasons or so Lebron took a lot of crap as well. Couldn’t win, always deferred in the biggest spots, etc. The Decision was also a really bad look. Time is very kind to the truly great players. Harden needs to win, though, or else he will always be remembered as a guy who couldn’t win instead of the greatest ISO scorer ever and one of the greatest offensive players of all time. Winning is required.

On another note... a road loss to the Wizards followed by a home loss to the Spurs for the Celtics. How bout them dumbass power rankings. This is a shot at the power rankings and over emphasis on recent games, not the Celtics.

And lastly, props to Jimmy Butler. He was mocked quite a bit for his decision to take his retirement tour talents to Miami, but he’s got that team in 2nd in the East. Credit to Spoelstra as well... the dude can coach.

Looks like Lebron is around 200 points from passing Kobe on the scoring list so 9-10 games?

Wonder if they try to make it happen during a home game and what the reception in LA will be. I assume Kobe would try to be there and at least look happy for him

As an outter- LA resident, I've been able to feel in the air Kobe's ego taking a hit every time LeBron has scored a point this season.

My guess is Kobe will probably show up, put on a fake smile to congratulate LeBron during an interview, then proceed to throw LeBron under the bus for hooking up with some Instagram models without anyone else mentioning it.

When I was a kid which was during the first half of Jordan's career I distinctly remember thinking he was a ball hog. I was a Celtics/Bird fan and he didn't really do much except score a lot of points until Bird was basically crippled and at the end of his career and retired. That was around the same time Magic retired as well. After that there was basically no one left to stop him and Jordan just dominated the league.

Im also still bitter and sad about Len Bias as well which would have almost certainly led the Celtics/Bird winning a couple more titles. For you young folks that don't know about Len Bias he was probably the best player that never played in the NBA because he died the day after being drafted #2 overall. Many people compared him at the time to MJ and some say he would have been even better.

Obviously we'll never know and Jordan went on to become the greatest player of all time. But I really would have loved to have seen Bias play with that Celtics team. Such a tragedy.

Nobody should be shocked he got hurt. Hope it isn't his twitter hand. 76ers will be under achievers with all of their tanking.

3 things....

1. We really don't know how long he'll be out. Could be 2 weeks. Could be 2 months.

2. It seems like an injury he should be able to bounce back quickly from once it heals.

3. Let's not forget what happened the last time Embiid missed a long stretch... they set a franchise record with 15 straight wins.

We'll see what kind of fire they come out with over the next 3 games vs the Celtics, Mavs and Pacers. So far they are 3-4 without him in the line-up this season, but those were all 1 and 2 game absences. Brent Brown is going to need to figure how to play the game with him out for a longer period of time.

Torn anything is always gonna be more than 2 weeks.
