Default Insurance Question for Shop Owners

I'll be opening my store at the beginning of February. Looking for insurance referrals especially if you have made a claim and not been dropped and/or not been hassled at the claim stage.

I met the people at Collectibles Insurance Services at the national two years ago, getting a quote from them.

I'm already insured for the property, fixtures, etc. Just need a policy to protect against catastrophic (fire/water) and burglary of inventory.

I use Collect Insure. You need a good safe or a security alarm to get burglary coverage over $50k. I haven't had to use them, thankfully, but I've talked to several who have, without issue.

Great thank you for the feedback. I really appreciate it. Will have ADT in the shop.

I'm an insurance agent and would advise that whomever you use make sure you have the agent/company explain the settlement provisions (i.e. how they will value the loss). I'd also make sure you consider what exposures could possibly take place like water/sewer back-up or flood.

https://www.sportscollectorsdaily.co...ajor-flooding/ This is a good reminder as to why looking at the policy provisions are important. These are great people and their policy had flood removed a year or two before this loss and left them with little to no coverage.

Feel free to PM if you have any specific questions.

My aunt lives in Fridley. Will have to pay your shop a visit when I’m in the area.

Only 7 blocks from Flameburger. I guess I'll have to stop on by.

There used to be a shop, cards or comics, right in that area. Probably 20-25 years ago.
