Forgive my ignorance, I used to collect Marvel comics back in the 70s and then like most made the stupid decision to sell my collection for pennies on the dollar for some impulse purchase at the time
anyway, I just recently purchased a copy of Moon Knight on ebay and received it today. I noticed some green rectangular markings at the top of most non ad pages and don’t recall ever seeing these before (I’m old so maybe I don’t remember). Any idea what these signify and their purpose? watermark? see interior picture posts for an example of what I am referring to https://www.ebay.com/itm/MOON-KNIGHT...33a4%7Ciid%3A1 Last edited by Icerat; 12-10-2019 at 08:51 PM. |

I just looked it up and apparently it's similar to the way they use different colored twist ties for bread to determine the sell by dates. These were supposedly used to help with the rotation old stock and come in 4 different colors one per week of release to help distributors with buying back old unsold stock. It is from the factory and should not effect values at all.

And FWIW, CGC doesn't hold that against the book when they grade it, at least they didn't use to, now I'm getting notes on gradings that say "Date Printed on Cover" so they might be demoting for that now which they didn't use to..
