I don't think that 1 card has a much of an effect on hobby prices to be honest. It has some but not much imo. Still lots of golds, black golds, cracked ice, etc. I don't believe too many people actually believe they're going to hit the 1/1 Zion when purchasing a hobby box.

No, they are hoping to hit a silver Zion! Except when they pull a Zion silver it will be off center! They will then send it to PSA and get a 10 because grading companies are corrupt. I bet 90% of Zion silvers will be off center but will grade high, Panini really hosed investors this year. The 1/1 is even off center!
Real collectors care about /5, /25, and all 99 parallels that will be released. Investors don’t care about cracked ice, etc...no they want Gold and non numbered silver. I understand 12/13 - 15/16 Prizm silver pricing but since 16/17 the amount of silver has gone up huge. It’s a bubble that will pop.

SOOOooo! Last night was the first time ever I took part in a break, any kind of break. The only reason I decided to try it out was for a chance at a few good Zion rookies. Considering the price of those hobby boxes, I thought the price for the break wasn't bad.

Did I get the Zion 1 of 1? Of course not! I didn't get the Pelicans in any of the 5 cases. It was still a lot of fun (5 hours of fun to be correct LOL). The Zion went to a lady called Sarah and all I can say is congrats!! She certainly maxed out on luck as she got New Orleans in case 3 and 5 with a single slot in the break! Am I jealous? Not one bit. I had a 1:30 shot at the Zion, same as everybody else who bought one slot in that break.

Congrats again Sarah!

I was digging through the videos trying to find the exact moment it was hit and I saw in at least 2 of the 5 cases that Sarah had the Pelicans. That’s some crazy good random luck there.

You're buying/selling into the hype. That's what's driving the prices...hype. So, performance is not factored in.

I'm not saying your offer is fair or not. It's just that sellers are using hype to sell their cards. $15K is not hype-priced.

I havent broken down the checklist, but Zion has multiple 1/1s which got that customer excited. He came back today and opened our second shipment.
