I wish the voting had been done after the Astros cheating revelation. Would have been unanimous for Trout.

If there’s one thing baseball hates it’s cheaters. Bregman will be lucky ever to get a first place vote. I question his entire career now.

Well... folks are also certainly forgetting this was an issue in 2017, and even then pretty rare...

Somehow they want any reason to believe Trout cleanly won, as opposed to slipped, fell, and lucked that his head was over the line

I checked in to that before I posted, just to make sure haha. IBWAA doesn't count unfortunately, he isn't a voter for this award. Different organization.

Ballots are not even available for writers until last week of the season these days. And plus I would think BBWAA members, given all their rules and guidelines, would be above trying to vote for a season award 3-4 weeks early. Fact is, at the end of the season, from this group of 30 voters, more chose Trout to be named the MVP.

I'm not sure what the difference between the two groups are, or why he was voting for MVP. Help describe what happened there? many people have reported on here that folks were voting early Sept. What were they talking about.

But in the end, only 2 more people voted for Trout than Bregman out of 30... So was a veritable tie.
