Probably less than likely, the Malone and Chris Bosh autos are probably some of the best in the lot. But still has some decent stuff in there.

Rogue:

Love that you took a chance and are willing to do the work .

Would be interested in any Sidney Moncrief (Arkansas/Bucks only) and Giannis (think I saw a GU in one of the first pictures).

Thank you and best of luck,

Jeff

This person knew what they were doing. It looks eerily similar to all the crap I have collected up in a similar fashion. It's been picked clean.

It's depressing to look at, given it's intense resemblance to what I have rounded up: same products, same washed/trash players.

I'd gladly sell you another big lot of identical stuff for same price, if not for hundreds lower, if interested.

Genuinely, good luck with this. But this is a lot of work.

exactly, not bashing the guy just proving the point it was picked over. imagine shipping any of those cards at 3.00 a piece. Its not like he has a store front. Brutal as I see the PO being the biggest winner

Always hate to see people taken advantage of like this. I hope the OP can recoup some of his money

Heavily picked through, I think that's the main concern. It wasn't a level playing field.

Primarily b and c level players with the occasional a-lister base card worth a few cents just to maintain interest and drive a sales point.

Really hope OP at least recoups a good portion, but I'd definitely avoid that seller in the future...sounds like he's a master peddler of the Craigslist special.

Isn't it obvious it would be picked through ? The OP said he had looked through the 5 boxes. Looks like 5 boxes of junk GU/auto that were likely being sold for 2-5$ each with a few slightly better cards mixed in. I think you'd need to pay 1$ or so per card in these spots to have real upside and even so you would need some low fee way to sell them (card shop, shows etc) in order to come out ahead.

Looking through the pictures again there are more 5$ cards than I first saw. But same thing still applies. Hard to maximize these cards unless you are using them as store or show inventory. COMC fees add up and the market is weak for these types of cards.

Hey Rogue , you said you had alot of free time so Goodluck with the flip , card collecting is a Great hobby so Im sure you'll enjoy the process .

I just feel a bit bad because at first glance I dont see anywhere close to $2 k in value .

The past few years I had a few shoe boxes filled with the exact same type of cards and I tried to flip them but gave up since I got frustrated with no luck , selling $1-$5 cards is alot of work especially hundreds/thousands of cards.
I actually ended up giving box of cards away for free just to clear space , the other box of cards I just use as card fillers when shipping cards so they dont bend the main card Im selling.
It's going to be Alot of work and I hope it goes well for you .

Just a few questions , do you collect all sports or just mainly basketball ?
Whats your experience level in the hobby , been collecting for sometime or new ?

Was there any negotiating at all or the seller was firm on $2 k ? I would of for sure negotiated down alot more , that seller did make a big score here , got rid of alot of base cards for insane amount

Buying big lots like this could be fun aswell , you really never know what your going to get , some gem could be hiding somewhere in the boxes .

You sure are stuck on asking that question. It is obvious that he is not interested in responding to your question since you have been a debbie downer this entire thread...……..the guy spent some money and enjoys what he spent money on, so just let it go...…...

Subscribed. I'll be interested to see how this plays out. I don't understand why anyone would trash the OP either...this is a hobby and this is a fun project. If he makes some money, then that's great. If he doesn't, it's not your money, so why do you care?

I don't think they're trashing him at all, he said he bought this lot to flip and people are (perhaps rudely) telling him he overpaid for the lot if he's in it for the gain.

He said he wanted to flip for profit.
Was not actually asking the guy who got ripped off so i'm not waiting for him to reply to me. I asked anyone else who's reading this thread who also sees the foley in putting $2000. on a credit card on a picked over collection.
The personal attacks Don't bother me, its part of your bullying mentality on these boards. Once you start to insult me it proves i am right. Dood has to pay interest on this flip too.

Kind of, I just feel the seller clearly ripped this guy off. I feel bad for the flipper actually. There was no chance for "The find" in this lot.. I feel the OP may have been lead to believe this. Not like i found an old collection lets invest and hope to find the one card to make it alright. like the seller knew. These boards love to call out cheaters cutters slicers dicers, yet in this case you will try your hardest to make the op feel better by bashing me... If it helps him feel better op could prob use that right now before that first CC payment is due.

I don't know anything about basketball collecting but I love someone taking a chance on a collection and the grind of the flip so I'm here to follow the flip. Good luck op!
