Default Best handles of all time

The 6th man thread got me thinking about Crawford which got me thinking about how crazy his handles were and who the best NBA ball-handlers of all time were.

My top 5: (All these guys I watched play, it's hard to go into the 80s and before cause I didn't watch)

1) AI - Easily #1 for me. It was between AI/Kyrie for the top spot and while Kyrie and AI are probably on the same level of technical skill AI just did it with incredible style and flair.

2) Kyrie

3) Jamal Crawford

4) Jason Williams

5) Steph Curry

What is your top 5?

Agreed with Iverson. I think people forget sometimes how good he was.

I’m with that list. I want to lobby for Hardaway but can’t bump anyone

I’m with you on the Top-2, though I’d want to put Maravich up there as well. Dude was the pioneer of handling the basketball and taught almost everybody a better way to handle the rock.

Rafer “Skip to my Lou” Alston also is up there. He could do things with the ball nobody had seen before.

Kyrie is it though for today’s NBA and nobody really even comes close. The hesitations alone aren’t replicated by anybody in the game today.

I didn't even think of Rafer. He was a lot of fun to watch.

Solid list. I think Harden's handles deserve an honorable mention, he separates himself from defenders like very few people can. He can stop on a dime and has a beautiful mix of tight and loose handles. 1 on 1 hell.

An elite hesitation dribble is the primer to any other successful dribble move. Without one you're not going to be able to cross anyone.

Sometimes it's so slow-mo it looks like a travel.

I am a Lakers fan, but any list without Bob Cousy should be ignored. The NBA didn't start in 1991.

AI
Kyrie
Cousy
Isiah
Pistol Pete

This is pretty close for me. I'd swap J Will in for Kyrie.

God Shammgod is the guy the many of today's players got their moves from, so it's only right to mention him...
