Steph Curry is phenomenal. I'm not saying otherwise. My point is that he didn't change the way basketball was played. Analytics did. He just benefited immensely from those changes. My point about Ray Allen is that he would have been a superstar in today's NBA. If Steph is the greatest shooter of all time (I think he is), then Ray Allen is the 2nd best. My point isn't to compare Allen vs Curry. It's to point out that Ray Allen would have also dropped 350+ 3s per season if he were playing today. I don't know how much you guys watched back when he was playing, but the general consensus back then was that he was the greatest shooter who ever lived. They actually have very similar games, but Ray Allen played during the big man's era. It was a different game back then, and one in which Curry wouldn't have ever even had a chance at an MVP vote, let alone the trophy.

You say that as if Reggie Miller wouldn't also have been a superstar in today's game. Anyone who was an elite 3 point shooter from the past would have been considerably more valuable in today's game than they were while they played.

Depending on the cost of your arm and leg, I'd say gem mint prizm silver rc, or optic holo, or base cards from those sets if they're too much.

Lol, and that time machine only needed to go back 2-3 weeks. The frenzy is so ridiculous right now I am seeing prices go up daily.

Will be interesting to see if that one gets relisted. They've been selling for $700 to $800 this week. Anyone bidding that high is either shilling or not paying attention.

Dang, I thought I got away from Bo Hunter over here. Been on these boards almost 10 years and I would like to congratulate you and your hot takes (in every thread, in every sport, despite your being in the hobby 6 weeks) on being the first person on my ignore list. Well done, Bo. You have accomplished what others previously thought was impossible. Keep those hot takes comin'!

Did you watch Larry Bird back in the day? He was lights out from any spot in the floor and a stone cold assassin!

This coming from a Lakers fan...

I'm confused at what you think the hot take is? That Ray Allen was a great shooter? Really? Or that analytics changed the way basketball is played? Really? These aren't exactly hot takes lol. Both are pretty common knowledge. If you don't think analytics is responsible for the way the game is played today, then you've been living under a rock. This is not a controversial statement. It's a simple fact. I assumed everyone knew this. No?

Is there anyone here that doesn't think data & analytics is responsible for how the game has evolved over the past decade?

Absolutely! Loved watching him play when I was a kid. But even he only averaged 0.7 3s per game over his career. Can you imagine how many 3s he would have made if he were playing today?

He would average 6 three pointers a game. Lol

But his overall game was very impressive, can shoot, can pass, rebound and would give his all to win a game!

I have always liked Optic better than prizm but never really liked collecting non-auto stuff. I guess part of that stems from being older and going through the whole inserts being valuable then not worth anything and then being valuable again. I just don't see the appeal in a prizm or refractor with 30 different variations of the same card, but that's just me and I am in the minority. I am glad they do it in case I get lucky and pull one from a pack or box and can sell it. I really like Luka so I went against my normal collecting and picked up an optic choice rc for $25 before the season started. It sold for much less than the holo silver and there were only a handful listed and completed.

If only everyone took the same approach!

Luka is off again tonight. Today will be a good day to buy. Up against the Magic at home tomorrow on two days rest.
