Best Michael Jordan insert under $50?

Hi guys,

I was reading through a thread recently of everyone’s favourite Jordan inserts under $400. But what if we narrowed the focus to under $50?

Personally, I just picked this beauty for $35 which is around market value.

I know Collector’s Choice was a low end product at the time but the odds were 1:145 packs which is tough.

The foil is beautiful and great in hand. Condition sensitive.

Am I alone in thinking this card is super undervalued? What is your favourite undervalued Jordan insert under $50?

I really like the 1998-99 Starquest Red. If you're patient you can usually grab one for under $30.

92 Fleer Total D.

Just a beautiful and timeless card. You may be able to get an ungraded copy for right around or just under 50.

Honorable mention to 92 beam team.

I’m not an expert on Jordan cards, but the 98-99 Starquest cards are one of my favorite. A Jordan Red for under $30 seems like a steal to me!

Edit: you’re absolutely right! Looks like I’m in the market for a Jordan 98 SQ Red!

If you were going parallel I'd say 96 Spx gold.

Sticky fingers is CHEAP and imo one of the best looking. I’m selling one on eBay rn as I’ve got 2. Another I like, while it’s not an insert, is the 97-98 Metal Universe base card. It looks great to me

It won't be on this list for much longer, but the 1996 - 97 Metal Decade of Excellence. The classic rookie design, Fleer etched technology, a very clean and relatively hard to pull insert. If your patient you can get one for 50 or less, but like I said probably not for much longer.

I like the 95-96 emotion N-tense. I was 12 yo when Jordan returned to the NBA. I remember "#45" being so cool. Ungraded is at $50 or so

I picked up a bunch of oversized cards that look like this Jordan. Boxtoppers maybe? They may be worth something.

Any of the skybox premium base cards are awesome and can be had for a few bucks. I love the artwork they add to the cards like smoke trails from the ball or motion blurs. They’re all super cool.

you know what's really funny is the N Tense is suddenly a rare card and should be had for around 30 tops and now it's more expensive lmao. Sheep gonna' sheep.

Don't get me wrong, the card looks like a million dollars, but it's not rare, it's mass produced and readily available. I've also seen 10 dollar inserts suddenly in the 30-50 range lmao.

That's more sad than it is funny. Especially when you compare a 25 year old card to a lot of the modern stuff and it blows them all out of the water.

some under the radar ones for me include the 96-97 predictor TV Cel cards, 1996 SPx Holoview Heroes, 1995-96 SP Holoviews, 1994-95 SP Championship Playoff Heroes, 1998-99 Chrome Preview (this one is tough to find with good centering, however), etc.

Power in the key. One of the best early foils for Jordan with awesome colors. They’re undervalued around $30-$40 raw.

I strongly prefer 90s era cards and use newer cards primarily as trade bait.
