Thanks for sharing this, not really a good look for the seller but maybe that's just me.

Did anyone notice the 2018 Topps Update Gleyber Vertical Batting SSP PSA 10 sold for a best offer of $600? That is more than I thought it would go for, but I am happy with that as a comp for his Update SSP cards.

I haven't seen a set like 2018 Topps Update in a while, with the likes of Acuna, Soto, Gleyber, and all of the rest. The quick rise in their prices is incredible and it's not stopping anytime soon, hopefully.

Happy Gleyber Day.

2018 Topps Holiday Metallic Snowflake has a PSA 10 pop of only 12. What do you guys think one of those would go for right now considering it's a similar situation as Acuna's #698, having no parallels with being an SP?

I noticed....saw it last night on ebay for a $1k BIN, didn't see it this morning though.....figured it sold although I didn't know it was for $600.....gotta say that is my favorite pic of all Gleyber updates, would have been a great pic for the 2018 S2

I was paying attention to Acuna and Trout so much I never noticed Torres' Updates took such a big jump recently. I have nice stash of him from opening packs. I only noticed because I seen a raw gold went for over $180 and I was thinking that can't be right. Also surprised the "throwing" SP is going for so much now too. That was like a $10 card when I last looked.

Sent this one back, had to...would not grade well I don’t think. I’m reading that it is common apparently for the sp and ssp to have rough cut edges on the tops. Probably a big mistake but wanted something I could get graded.

That or he can collect the way he wants to collect.
I guess he forgot to ask your permission.

Did the auction pictures show any thing about the edges or usable close ups? That doesn't look bad and if it was evident in the auction then it's on you. But if the pics were blurry or not described accurately, then sure you should send it back.

Buying and especially selling raw cards is always a crap shoot.

Can you post a link to the listing for your card? Would love to see the the pics and item description to understand this situation better as you’re clearly expecting a high grade card when purchasing raw. So I would like to see what the seller represented.

The bubble has to pop at some point.

PSA10 US200s are selling at $75. Last week they were at $40. The week prior, $20.

The pop report will eventually catch up to this as more people are submitting and the race to the bottom is only a matter of time. It’s inevitable.

Make sure you read my prior post.

I wasn’t expecting a gem.

I wanted a normal card. Maybe a 9.

After returning the card for what I thought were dog meat corners and edges I read a brandt&becca description of another sp and they said it is common amongst. That’s why I stated in original post I wasn’t thrilled about returning now. Plus when you see the price,..... I’m just glad being relatively new to collecting, that I had the brains to get one before they were $50 and up.

Thanks for being curious I guess.

Buying and especially selling raw cards is always a crap shoot.

I’m new to buying and just got back into this.
Not used to odd trends of SP’s all having rough cut edges. Didnt know till I read something today. That’s why I posted what I did. I think I have returners remorse...

Ya, it wasn’t a problem returning. The guy was cool. I told him the edges were jacked, how I felt this card was useless to me, and he did t even care. Refunded as soon as I mailed it.

Did him a favor lol. My inexperience.

I don’t really want a card with edges all frayed and uneven, but still should I have kept it ? Yeup.

I feel like he’s right almost though, you always run the risk of not getting what you think you are.

Well there's a nice looking one for $500 obo so seems like a steal then, right? It's certainly possible someone paid $600 for one, but that doesn't make it the new market price.

Raw though. If you declare the value correctly, it will cost you $75 in grading fees alone. I thought $600 was low. Funny that everyone else thought it was high.

You messed up. Those edges are not damaged.

I have a Devers SSP with one side that has those rougher edges. Got BGS 9.5 as it had 10, 9.5, 9.5 on the other grades (it got 9.0 for edges)... don’t have to throw it out with just a bit of a rough edge

Definitely regretting not getting more Gleyber, at least what I bought instead was sealed update

All I have is a US200 Rainbow Foil, Heritage Black Border RC and the S2 SP
