I think that's precisely what happened. We need to look at how many gem mint 9.5 grades were awarded during that period as well. The doctor or doctors then slow-rolled these out to BGS for grading, a few per month. Likely so as not to arouse suspicion. The question then becomes did they run out of re-perfed Tigers or did Beckett catch onto the scam in early 2007?

And just for the record, this is the Tiger Woods that we witness the kid and his father extract from a magazine in the Outside the Lines episode from above. They then bring it to the 2001 NSCC and PSA grades it a PSA 9 on site. ESPN does not show a full shot of the card, but the top edge is clearly visible at the 2:25 mark of Part 2. There are 30 teeth on that horizontal surface, which is correct. Green arrows point to the corner chads which remain from removal. These BGS 10 re-perforated cards each have 28 teeth and no corner chads.
Legit card with proper number of teeth and chads near the corners. None of the BGS 10s I've seen look like this.

I think that in order for card doctors to create a perfect card, they need it in the original sheet. Once the supply ran out, so did the plethora of BGS 10s. Before this thread, Beckett had no clue.

It's definitely a significant chunk of change. Buyers are likely SOL though as there is no recourse with Beckett. In any event, I believe that was a different ownership group during that time period.

I'll add the ones Auburn35 found tonight so there will be an updated look at the chart.

In terms of known alterations of a particular card, it could be. If the current discovery trend continues, we might be talking $1 million+ in BGS 9.5s and 10s. That doesn't include anything that PSA has put in a holder. Not yet at least.

Very possible, just wanted to highlight the cards that linked up with BGS 10's.

Now we need to try and find some of these 9.5's and do similar dental records (counting teeth). Would also help, finding the original submitter of these cards.

This could end up being a huge takedown for the FBI if they choose to subpoena Beckett submission records. I hope they're reading this. It's time to get sh*t like this out of the hobby.

Maybe the Tiger Woods stuff should be its own thread.

Wow, nice work Auburn. We can probably dig a lot of those up 9.5's. I think it's safe to assume almost all will be altered. Maybe a handful are legit.

Here's two more I marked up. And the updated chart. This first one is the one Bruins posted above. I marked it up. Currently for sale on eBay from seller jmxw3. Serial #4360204 28 horizontal/40 vertical. TRIMMED/RE-PEFORATED

This next one was last sold publicly in April 2007 (hence the substandard photo). It was graded on 3/29/07, so likely Windy City Card Company, the seller, was either selling it for the submitter or was the actual submitter of the card to BGS. Serial #4983640 27/37(!!) Look how the club head touches the left edge and how short the right edge is. Beckett must have thought the Tiger Woods SIFK cards came as minis. TRIMMED/RE-PEFORATED

For further perf reference, these three cards are immediately adjacent to the center Tiger Woods card in the nine card panel:

All three cards have the same perf tooth count which are different than many of the graded Tiger Woods cards. Woods' card should not be different if it is to be considered a legitimate magazine perforated panel card.

It is the outside card - furthest from the spine of the magazine and obviously trimmed short in width to fit the nine card panel in the magazine. Look at the difference in the border design from the other cards or even on the left side of that card... the right border is mostly cut off.

I had a hard time finding another Hingis. Most were likely sacrificed for the Woods. Here you can see one with a fuller right border (i.e., border not cut off):
