Someone is going to get hosed. Already up to $800. If that card were legit, what do you think it would get at auction?

Yeah, they are grading the card not the patch. Would
Be hard to keep track of unless every company provided pics of every single card produced.

Wow, some people just have no boundaries, butchering a card like that.

Wasn't this same fake trying to be peddled just a couple months ago? Could've sworn I saw another thread on it, wonder if it's the same seller.

Yes. I almost won that auction until I saw the thread about it.

It looks so good.

I did also message the seller and provided him the several posts (even one from 6 years ago) identifying this card to have been altered. I bet he doesn’t take it down, somebody should send this to Psa so they are aware or does it even matter since the card isn’t in their hands anymore?

With the statement that Joe Orlando gave out today, I'm afraid they really don't care!

Some great people out there in the hobby! Get information. Turn a blind eye. Get the dirty money. Move on with no care at all.

Scum is an understatement.

Not knowing the seller's past and how they came across this card it must really suck to think you spent a lot of money on a card only to have it come across that the patch is fake. Unless you are rolling in cash, it would be a REALLY tough pill to swallow.

I am not defending this seller just seems like it would be a really crappy situation

The problem with a card like this is that since it is #/15 it is believable that it would have the patches as it appears now. Toss in the card is graded and to any potential buyers it is validated. Of course, seeing the original card with just the white relics would help but most potential buyers are not going to research the history of this card.

Here's a better picture of the original I've had saved on my computer. I added the other slabbed pictures so you can see the progression.

EDIT: This uploaded smaller than I thought it would. My apologies!

Goldin seems to take this crap down pretty quickly, which is nice to see. Good work everyone!

It's a shame that Upper Deck didn't initially produce the card with those patches. That would've been a gorgeous card.
