This is terrible news. Wow. Thoughts and prayers to his family and teammates.

For those speculating, I’d say stop. The release from the angels was short, but it was probably due to things being out on social media. There’s no reason to speculate as to why, especially those insinuating that it was self inflicted.

Best to stay off social media, since idiots on twitter are talking chit

RIP what a sad thing to happen to someone who had their whole life ahead of them.

RIP

I remember his Bowman cards back in the day when he was a top prospect. Easy to forget that he was still a young guy, only 27

Not necessarily. Don't forget Darryl Kile.

For his newlywed wife and family I hope not.

Geez this sucks. I was hoping he’d stay injury free and have a real breakthrough year at some point. He seemed like a good kid and put so much effort into his outings.

RIP Tyler.

The police statement said no foul play. I am the biggest Angels fan here, and I am going to sadly assume suicide or heroin overdose. I'm crying right now. May he rest in peace and the good lord comfort his loved ones

My guess is heart condition. Has an active MLB player ever taken his own life? I don't think that is what happened.

Very sad to hear.

I remember collecting him when he was a prospect and rooting for him. Seemed like he was supposed to be really good and was curious to see how his career turned out. Just sucks losing a player you root for to a tragedy. As a Philly fan I remember how bad it felt with the deaths of Jerome Brown, Roy Halladay and others.

From a collecting perspective I want to say it’s really disgusting that people try to profit off an athletes death.

A few minutes before i went to ESPN and found out I checked my COMC account and saw someone bought by Skaggs Topps rc. It was weird to me because it’s been there forever. Of course it was Joelshitshiw. But I didn’t know why till i went on ESPN. Just pathetic. Addiesdaddy

Been an Angel fan since the 70's and hearing this was terrible. My Brother and I were just talking about him and how he was struggling on the mound. Oh man!

Prayers going out to his Family!

I had a few BC Autos but nothing big, seem to remember there being a couple guys that were super collectors of his.

I haven't followed him in years so hearing he may have had substance abuse issues was news to me, just curious i suppose.

The first pitcher the Angels drafted after the loss of Nick Adenhart (by a DUI driver) was Tyler Skaggs

Wow!

SMH at all the new eBay listings. Especially the crop of questionable autographed cards. Pathetic.
