Default 104 now 129 print run adjustment!!! Seriously wtf

ABSOLUTELY PISSED BEYOND ALL BELIEF...YUP, SO MAD I AM MOST ASSUREDLY DONE WITH TOPPS UNLESS A VALID EXPLANATION CAN BE MADE FOR THE 25 CARD JUMP IN YESTERDAY'S PRINT RUN.

So I buy up all the flippers cards and place the card up very high as I like to do with Now cards especially when it is the all time low in set card (It is not now of course). Not expecting to sell that large but it's a gamble on my part to make the money back on the card and advertise the program. With the change in the PR did Topps just decide to sell after the PR was announce so others could have the card and under cut me? Just wow...I don't even know what to say...I NEED AN EXPLANATION

Jeeves ask me the other day why buyers were so angry with the Now product lately (more so then other years as there are always complainers)...but yes it seems even I have jumped on the WTF are you guys doing up there in NY? Band Wagon...

Okay got the explanation..."Error with the system and all orders were not pulled in"...still angry but I get it that things happen. At least it was the PR for them all...and not just the 104 PR. I can breath a little better and thankfully no one jumped on my $2K auction as I may get sued for false advertising.

I do like that they went with the correct print runs, vs just letting it go...it shows the team has integrity and care that the PR is as legit as possible. Doing the right thing even if you didn't have too...Good on you Jeeves and Jeeves Jr.
Even though it may have cost me a bit on the secondary...I am still the lowest priced #437 out there.

Topps should reimburse you for the cost of the ones you picked up on secondary market.

Does “not all orders were pulled in” = people were able and ordered after the sales window closed?

"why are people so mad?"

Seriously? They seriously need to ask that question?

Here I will give them an easy one:

I am mad and think your website is a P.O.S. because when I try to vote for a card of the week it wont authorize my cc. Tried different cc. Tried making new account. Had a friend make a new account and wouldnt work for him either.

I know others still have this same problem as well.

Right now the solution is....I dont buy your product.

Also just as a little friendly advice......you are going to have to number these card eventually because the illusion of print run integrity has been shattered.

I love the anger being vented at Topps and not the guy listing a card for $2k in hopes some mark will wildly overpay.

There are several things Topps can do to add value and reduce complaints for their NOW brands, but they’re not asking the right questions to enough of the right people.

Honestly, I don’t think they want to hear the answers sometimes.

I’ll do my talking via chat, email, in-person, etc. along with my checkbook. I’ll hold out hope that things get better. Until then, I’ll hold onto my checkbook ever more tightly.

I'm 95% out of Now and wondering when my last Living Set purchase will be. I'm feeling like I'm just tossing money out the window.

Same here. I spent way too much last year and had the same feeling of tossing money out the window. I have made just one order this year and don't miss it at all. Everything is geared toward the platinum members and nothing for those who spend well into five figures.

Although I don't disagree with you, that doesn't matter too much to me. What does bother me is the secondary market values of these cards is next to nothing.

Now I don't expect miracles, but come on. Something should go up in value. How many Topps internet cards of any kind have gone up recently? And how many due to anything but lack of print run? Scary that Griffey, Trout, etc in Living barely hold original price.

I wish someone would talk those of us that have been collecting the Home Run Challenge and ask me why we are so mad. You think a system glitch for a print run being off by 25 is rough. Try having them produce some and send them out to a select few with one print run, then come back and say 'oops' we will make another set with a new print run for those that didn't get what was due to them. Or last year when they made 3 color based parallels essentially the same color.

I'm with you. As you say, the value of the base cards is virtually nothing. And as often pointed out here, an auto card can be had for at or less than the original price when in hand. This program is propped up by the 40-50 platinum members who continue to buy in large dollar amounts. And that's evidently good enough for Topps to continue because the general knowledge of the brand is virtually non-existent at shows and among the larger collecting community. And I say this as someone who really likes these cards, even as a pure collector you want your purchases to at least be worth what you paid for them.

The standard is pack pulled cards and it is hard to overcome that. TN was a thing three years ago but is losing steam and it does not help to have streaky autos, delays and confounding random distribution of hits. Also, having Call-Ups in early June is not cool.

It doesnt have to be stamping serial number.

They can print the print run on the card just like all the other stuff that is printed...

or copy the picture (on the website) with print runs and put them with the cards (if you're selling them)

If it isn't serial numbered then printing the PR on the card is useless. There has to be the chance that they'd be caught out fudging the PRs. If they go the Panini Instant way of 1 of 189 (for example, and they are all 1 of ###, just meaning that this card is one of the 189 produced not 1/189 (for those that don't collect Panini Instant)), then they can still print some extra and there is almost no chance they get caught unless the PR is SSSSSSP. My two cents.
