Hi all
Got some mail today and for a player collector this is right up there!
So rare, so hard to find and normally buried in someone’s cupboard or in many unopened boxes. Turns out a Hockey collector in the states had it since pulling it 20 years ago!

1999-00 Upper Deck Gold #245 Clarence WeatherspoonSER 1

Goes beautifully with his other friends to finish the rainbow

That's pretty freaking awesome! If Beckett is correct, that's 1 of only 4 true 1/1 cards for Weatherspoon (not counting print/press plates). Pretty rare indeed. Congrats on finding it.

Thanks everyone. For someone who has been collecting Clarence since the 1992 draft, these sweet finds are very hard to come by!

First of all, great find. As a player collector from the same era, I've found those Upper Deck Gold 1/1's to be very elusive. You rarely see any player. Congrats.

To clear up some confusion, the Gold Reserve was an entirely separate set and had no affiliation to the regular Upper Deck set that year. I think a lot of people assume they were part of the same set (as an insert/parallel) because Upper Deck used the same photo on a lot of the cards, causing confusion. I think Upper Deck was just getting lazy during those boom years of the early 2000's, just to make an extra buck.

Congrats again on the 1/1...it's a beautiful card.

Thanks mate, and thanks for the info I never knew that. I really just go by whatever is listed in beckett I am trying to get
