PSA Cert #28639446 - PSA-10 POP 1

1952 Bowman Stan Musial #196

Value gain of $25,300.03

This card was purchased by whitman111 (Gary Moser) from PWCC as a PSA-9 on September 12, 2017 for $2,800.00. PWCC Marketplace link: https://www.pwccmarketplace.com/items/1541047
Same card was sold by PWCC as a PSA-10 for $28,100.03 on April 11, 2018. PWCC Marketplace link: https://www.pwccmarketplace.com/items/1638349

Yellow circles are fiber or print mark identifiers.
The double red square identifies the removal of a print spot. The single red squares allude to probable color addition on front and back. I don't think those are glare spots from the case.

PWCC listing description from the PSA-10: "Difficult to put in words the magnitude of this offering. Newly seen high grade key vintage trading cards rarely surface on the open market; offered here is perhaps the most exciting new entry to the investment community we've witnessed directly in years. Not a rookie card, but perhaps Stan-the-Man's most attractive and sought after issue and rarely does the 1952 Bowman production surface in grades higher than NRMT. Absoluting (sic) incredible GEM MINT presenation (sic) from every angle on this card, having just survived present-day PSA which most believe to be the strictest grading standards in the world. Dead centered and glistening from every angle, this card is a freak of nature, far surpassing the quality of any other '52 Bowman we've handled in our history. Best suited for a museum."

*** I have included the image of the same card in the PSA holder prior to being cracked out and turned into a PSA-10. The image is from a Heritage Auctions listing here: https://sports.ha.com/itm/baseball-c.../a/714-81193.s

Would like to share a recent special pickup to my collection. Not Stan the Man's Rookie Card but to me his most attractive card.

This is my first Musial card and I appreciate it as a coveted "Mini Mona Lisa" in collecting. It's currently a POP 1 PSA 10. This is the type of card I dreamed of as a kid collecting beat up vintage in the very early 80's.

From the owner in the PSA thread that will likely go poof soon.

"I think to myself how incredible it is that a 66 year old card of an All Time Legendary HOF'er survives people handling, avoiding thumbtacks/tape/bike spokes etc. and normal wear and tear."

Sad, very sad.

Tell him I am sorry, but this is why we are doing this.
It has to stop and those involved are going to pay.

From the owner, same thread:

"I did ask Brent right after I won the auction if there was a unique story behind the card but unfortunately he did not know. All my card images along with unique descriptions are stored as word documents so I would love to know. If I were to sell my collection someday I would like to have the images and descriptions I have gathered put into a printed color catalog of some sort to remember it by."

Meh, looks like any old piece of cardboard. JK!! I'm with the others. The color and registration on that is absolutely amazing. Being a 1/1 in the 10 holder does make it special, but even in a 9 holder, that would be a card anyone should be proud to own. Congrats on the pickup!!
You're right Tim, it looked just fine in a 9 holder.

This shows the level of greed and corruption. My God, leave the PSA 9 MINT alone!

This card was just featured in one the latest SMR magazines, along with UFFDAH's collection.

I think ‘absoluting’ will be my word of the week. Engineers trying to use the English language are frequently entertaining.

Unbelievable. Sadly, the unique story is that this is a Gary Moser doctored special and Brent likely knew that all along.

Yep, with a shout out to PWCC in the article.

This was all new to me, and I was intrigued. I started to educate myself on grading and PSA's process. While I had found a few Aaron cards I was tempted to buy, I always chickened out at the last minute because of the price. Then, in 2014, I stumbled across PWCC Marketplace and became hooked. I started buying cards from them, and that was what got me back into it.

Me thinks the 9 might have had some work done before Moser got it. Just speculation, but the border never sat right with me on that example

PSA 10 POP 0. This might be the one that really gets people interested. Even the PSA homers who have their heads in the sand.

I thought about that too. That’s a pretty old serial number though, right? Would make it hard, if not impossible, to find the pre-example.

The value of the PSA 9 just skyrocketed.
