Default Topps Star Wars Living Set

What is the “Living Set”? It’s a trading card set that starts with Card #1, but does not have a final card. The Living Set is a collection of the greatest Star Wars characters in the galaxy that lives on year after year. The Star Wars Living Set continues the Topps tradition of creating cross-generational products that can be collected and traded for years to come.

As part of the Living Set program, Topps will only issue one card per character per film, live-action series or animated series. Two new characters will be offered every week and will be available for purchase for just one week.

The Star Wars Living Set is inspired by the iconic 1977 Topps Star Wars Series 1 design. The blue starfield design still resonates as one of the most popular trading card designs in Topps’ history.

The Star Wars Living Set will feature artwork by notable Star Wars artist, Kris Penix, whose impeccable photo-realistic style brings new life and perception to Star Wars characters.

Vader is dead, but Vadar's OK.

I'll probably quit Living Baseball for this, (although I'll probably finish out Year 2 of baseball, regardless).

My sources tell me "Tattoo" Bob Hepner will be handling the art chores on this one.

There's no reason to think these will be any better than the MLB or UCL living cards.

I agree. There will be zero resell value on these but it will make an awesome set to collect and follow.

Does the other Star Wars Cards - Journey to 9 eat into these. How many collectors want to buy two online sets every week for Star Wars? This is an easy pass for me. I don't have any interest in art drawn cards and I am already doing the journey set.

Jake—are you out on pre-selling these?

I’m definitely not preselling any Living set cards on eBay anymore after this current week ends. For any of the lines.

Even when the cards don’t arrive damaged it’s a severely off-center mess. UCL is good condition wise since it’s white borders but they’re even more off-center than MLB from what I’ve received. Star Wars will have a lot of corner/edge damage from the colored borders.

Then it takes months and months to get anything replaced. Feels like the way of doing things is to just ignore it and hope it goes away.

I thought I knew the original trilogy pretty well, but I never knew that dude's name was Nien Nunb. I'm honestly a little disappointed in myself right now.

As part of the Living Set program, Topps will only issue one card per character per film, live-action series or animated series.

Interesting twist on the original concept of Living.

And if all are head shots.... it's gonna be hard to tell one Darth from the other. Not much background to know for sure what movie it's from. With Luke he will have different head gear.

Will they do just one stormtrooper?

If Darth gets traded, do we get a new card?

Maybe if people are patient and wait until the final hour to buy these, we will see the same 25% discount coupon we see for the UCL Living Set.
