Thumbs down Trimmed 1999 SP Signature Nolan Ryan PSA 10 (PWCC- Sold May 15th)

Obvious trimming on bottom and left edges, but the bottom left corner area says it all. Card was in same sub as trimmed 2001 SP Ichiro /50 that PWCC sold. ALL cards in PSA slabs starting with 43181 and 43182 and for sale from PWCC should be assumed to be trimmed. More proven trimmed cards from this sub in other sports will be called out shortly.

Has anyone approached the FBI about this? Are people telling PWCC about these cards and they aren’t doing anything? If they are aware and aren’t doing anything about it, someone needs to get in touch with the proper authorities.

They're taking them down, but they're only taking them down one by one as we call them out. Similarly for historical sales, they are only taking action on a per card basis. So, the forums are their only check for trimmed cards.

It would be much more effective if they took down entire consignments and released a list of cards that these consignors submitted to PWCC.

So much for "we will no longer work with scammers." Maybe they'll stop next month?

I'm guessing the buyer hasn't paid on this yet, because PWCC combines shipping

They're taking them down now because it's getting a lot of attention and they can't ignore it. But back in Dec last year when I messaged them on a card with proof that it was altered they replied "thanks" and let the auction sell.

They don’t have any choice after you have provided proof and called them out in public. Hopefully they’re feeling the pinch in their bank account. Truly the only thing that will stop them is loss of income.

That is one huge hunk of card gone, way past just a corner touchup. I think with all your great work it has become painfully obvious that the graders are definitely invested in these cards as well and most likely receiving kickback from preferred submitters.

These threads prove the consignors are shady and the grading companies are failing at their job. Stop buying graded and don't buy through PWCC and similar.

I wish PSA and BGS would make a statement about all these trim cards. I’m going to assume both companies will be at the National and collectors can confront them on this issue.

Why would anybody pay a premium for this in PSA 10.....it's not a hard card to find, and since it's modern, probably 50% of the print run would grade PSA 10 if anybody bothered to submit them.

Is anyone keeping a running list of these discoveries? Someone should do that.

Why blame PWCC? PSA is to blame. If it’s in a PSA slab, PWCC shouldn’t have to worry about it authenticity, right?

PWCC is essentially a large and sophisticated packing and shipping operation.

You can't expect them to also have their own in house grading and authentication service. In fact, the PWCC CEO would most certainly think that's a waste of his capital considering that there's three big, well known, cheaply priced TPA/Gs already on the market. No auctioneer would take that cost in-house. Ever. It makes no economic sense.

I'm sure they slapped on their certified high grade sticker on it as well. They claim to have their own inspection process. lol.

do you not think they have a list of clients that buy known lesser grade cards, trim them for grade and sell exclusively through them? its win win for both accounts. they have to know it's being done.. how else would so many go exclusively through them.
I don't believe the authenticity or genuine nature of any of the big consignment sellers.

Except PWCC does actually have its own grading service.

You don't need slabs to declare yourself a third-party grader.

okay, so what I'm seeing is that they are differentiating cards given a numerical grade based on eye appeal.

If I'm not mistaken, many posters on this board due just this EVERY day.

"What MJ Fleer RC should I buy?"

"Go with the best centered PSA 8 you can buy."

"Great advice, found one for a good deal but it was way O/C."

What am I missing? That's a rhetorical question.
