Default My latest project: Current Marvel live-Action cards based on 1990 Impel design

One of my all-time most nostalgic sets for me is the Marvel Universe 1990 Impel Series 1 cards. Each card featured a colorful design for every major animated character from the comics (including multiple Spider-Man's from variations, etc) and neat stats on the back. I still have the full set to this day and I love those cards.

When I came out of seeing Captain Marvel the other week I thought "wouldn't it be cool to have EVERY live-action character (even small bit characters) on a card with that old 1990 design?" I knew it would never happen, so I started to make the cards myself. Using Photoshop and a lot of layers and time, I was able to recreate the template and start making cards.

Here is a sample of 8 cards I created from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1:

Great job!....that would be an awesome concept to pitch Upper Deck for an insert or subset. Could even get customs made and have some in person autos on them.

Those are great, are you doing anymore?

I hoped to see a set like this for a while.

Great work!
1990 Impel Marvel Universe remains the best Marvel Comics card set of all-time.

This is excellent! I also used to love reading the backs, comparing stats on those Marvel Universe cards. Awesome work!

Here's some for Captain Marvel that I did tonight. One thing I really like to do is make a card for each character's various personalities... for example with Captain Marvel she has three: Kree, Human, and Superhero Human. It really expands the set.

I won't post anymore here until I'm done. I don't want to overload the thread.
