He’s loosing it. Lol, he has the audacity to tell members of the media to grow up. The guy that has burner accounts is telling people to grow up. I’m guessing since he’s leaving golden state after this year he’s tired of the media growing the narrative. Dude, you’re on the most stacked team of all time, will have another easy title, and finals mvp. Stop being a whiny child...

I see his point, but are there not media obligations for players? Being a professional in the NBA is more than just playing basketball, I thought.

Good luck to him when he has to deal with the spotlight of being the man on the biggest market team, the Knicks. He may physically attack someone during one of his episodes.

He is not required to talk to the media. There have been many players in multiple sports that have disliked the media and talked sparingly.

Is he required to be present at these press conferences? I don’t know the details of these contracts, but I’d assume that if he was allowed to just play ball and go home, he wouldn’t be answering tough questions from people he dislikes on his own free will.

I know everyone hates him because he "chases titles" and built a superteam, has burner accounts, etc..... But I love mean Kevin.
Dude has fire, and is still an absolute monster on the court. He's really turned into a complete player on the Warriors and plays killer defense too. And speaking of chasing titles: why no hate for Boogie? IMO he's even worse than KD. |

This is the NBA regular season everything is a story but the game. I know people complain the MLB season is too long and boring but NBA is worse IMHO

NBA players are actually required to be available for the media for 45 minutes after a game. It is required. My other post was wrong.

Actually I would change regular season to just season (including playoffs). The NBA hasn't had on court excitement in years, we know who is going to win. The only excitement is off the court.

KD isn't wrong.
Media literally eats by stirring the pot. But you'd rather take shots at the player and feed the narrative. He's not being whiny, he's tired of being in a room with a bunch of snakes fielding stupid questions. |

With all the fake news talk out of Durant, where's the My Next Chapter/MAGA meme mashup?

+1 I was expecting more “whining” but this just felt like KD was being real. And the last line “you know you don’t care about that” was pure gold. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Dude gets #@#@#@#@ no matter what he does.
If I was him I'd be trying to go somewhere on a shorter cheapo deal if necessary like Milwaukee or Portland/Jazz that's already in decent shape and try to take down the Warriors or any potential LeBron mega teams and bring a title to one of those places. They wouldn't be NY but any of those spots would be giving him handies regardless of his past if he helped win it all. New York would be an absolutely terrible place to go for him I think. They aren't built to contend and don't have a winning culture. I could see someone younger going there to try and change that but I don't think he has the time or patience for it. |

I watched and didn't see it as him losing it. He's human and frustrated. I'm sure if we had stories written about us filled with lies, innuendos, mischaracterizations, etc we'd all be frustrated too.

it's weird, but I like him doing this. Those guys in that room are looking for him to slip up, he knows it and they know it. I don't see it as whining, I see it as him actually trying to take a stand for himself against people who make a living off coming up with stories either in favor or against him (whatever gets better viewership). I am really glad the video was posted so that I could form my own opinion about it, rather than what gets written about the interview

The whole journalism industry feels like TMZ/National Inquirer now.

You're 100% correct. Unfortunately though, being a professional "journalist" or "sports reporter" requires little actual professionalism it seems.

He should just troll the media. “I keep telling the GM I want out. Draymond is an #@#@#@#@#@#@#@ and Steph and Klay hog the ball. Would y’all wanna play with these guys?!?” Keep em guessing.

They’re gonna probe for clickbait. Their job is to generate interest in stories they write. The drama around KD’s free agency is a hot topic. If fans didn’t care so much, reporters wouldn’t ask this stuff. Same reason the kardashians are news. Nothing they do is relevant at all, but for some reason people care, so it draws media attention. The media questioning makes me a little uncomfortable because I see KD’s point, but I also see the other side of it.

They are basically reality TV producers at this point trying to drive a narrative through splicing together dialogue out of context to manufacture drama. It isn't real journalism.

They are leeches. Makes sense that they follow in the footsteps of the regular 'journalists.'
Journalism is now more geared towards entertainment than it is about informing people. |
