I don't usually like what-ifs, but Cooks dropped the tying touchdown late in the 4th quarter. He holds on to that pass, could be a totally different story today.
That said, hats off to the Patriots defense. This game and the one at Chicago were the only times all season the Rams offense reminded me of the ones they fielded these last 10 to 15 years in the desert, and the Bears had the benefit of the cold to aid in their domination. (I think that game may also be when Gurley got the injury he obviously never fully recovered from).
While the crowd noise yesterday was certainly advantage-Patriots, after what LA went through in New Orleans in the Championship game, it can't have been that bad for the Rams, although I think they did commit something like 4-5 pre-snap penalties, which is inexcusable in a game of this magnitude. Again, credit the seasoned Patriots defense coupled with the inexperience of the Rams offense playing at this level.
Oh well, what's done is done. Back at it 2019, with hopefully a better result.
