Default Topps Star Wars "Update" Set after Ep 9???

Hi all,

Not sure how many here are/were users of the Star Wars Card Trader app, but when they had their 1 year anniversary (I think that's what it was or maybe it was TFA launch) they did an insert set featuring TFA characters in inserts or designs that were extremely popular.

For example they had the coin/mint cards, wanted posters, elegant weapons, etc with the TFA characters.

Looking at Galactic Files 2018 they had the poster patches which are pretty popular and are holding value well. However, one issue I have with it is that we aren't likely to get an Ep 9 poster patch card, unless...

I am proposing Topps does an "update" set which would help fill in some gaps and give new saga & spin-off takes on popular cards or act as expansions.

Additionally, this could allow them to save on full blown releases that are just filler or where they have to include the core characters for the millionth time and focus on the new.

For example:
Base cards:
  • 2016 Evolution
  • 2014/15 Chrome (Perspectives style, not movie story cards)
  • Tek (this would be a long shot)
  • Card Trader

Inserts:
  • JvS Chrome Duel coins for Ep 7-9
  • GF18 poster patches for Ep 9 & Solo
  • Stained Glass inserts for R1, Solo and 7-9
  • MW2 battle medallions for Crait, Scariff, Mimban or Vandor, Ep 9 locale
  • New film cels in MW3 style for Ep1-3, 7-9 and spin-offs

So, what are your thoughts on a set like this and what cards would you love to see with the Disney era characters.

I think TPM was the last movie to actually be distributed with physical film. AOTC was (I believe) at least partially distributed digitally. Certainly all current movies are film free.

I get that, but they can make film cels.

Bulls-i Toy did it with the Avengers AoU dog tags.

Itd be something different at least. We've had the OT cels in several sets now: Jedi Legacy, Illustrated, MW3, 40th.
