Maybe her style isn't for many ArtGerm fans and I wonder how many copies are just being sold, going unread, to fill ArtGerm collections..

I'm starting to think they should've picked a different artist to do the variants, like Sienkiewicz, Allred, etc. to attract a different fanbase.

This is the ArtGerm thread, so I have to say, again, that I really dig that variant. But, I wonder how many of you just buy these for the covers and ignore the comic inside?? And, do you also dislike Joelle Jones work? I've seen similar hate for Allred, which I don't get as well, from collector/speculator groups.

I buy them just for the covers. Haven't even considered reading them. I'd be shocked if the writing in this series was any good, but let me know if it is.

I've enjoyed the story, so far.
I don't think you have to have read the whole engagement to Batman storyline that many were upset about. It's just a fresh start. It doesn't hurt to try it, since you own the comics anyways.

I don't understand being "shocked", though. Joelle co-wrote(and drew) Lady Killer, which I think is well written and I know it's gotten mostly positive reviews from what I've read.

I have no good reason. The idea of a catwoman comic just doesn't intrigue me. I realize she has had multiple ongoing series at this point.

I honestly buy most modern books for the covers or for first appearances. I mostly read digital in planes, trains, and automobiles. I really consider modern floppies to be collectibles. Anything I'm going to read I either download or pick up the trades.

I no longer have the attention span or interest to wait a month for the next issue in an arc, or the desire to store a ton of floppies im never going to read again. I used to try and sell runs on ebay when i was done reading them, but its really more effort than its worth. I just hated the idea of tossing a comic book out with the junk mail.

But if you say it's worth reading, I'll give the trade a shot when I see it.

Looks like we're getting a Batgirl cover.. I've been waiting for this one.

Quote:
BATGIRL #31
written by MAIRGHREAD SCOTT
art and cover by PAUL PELLETIER and NORM RAPMUND
variant cover by STANLEY “ARTGERM” LAU

In this issue, it’s Batgirl for Congress! Plus, masked assassins and awkward exes! Barbara Gordon volunteers to campaign for an up-and-coming reformer candidate who wants to take on the GCPD. That puts Barbara in a tough spot against her father—police commissioner James Gordon. And just when things couldn’t get any more awkward, a former flame reenters Barbara’s life. Personal angst and a masked super-villain hunting a mystery target. It’s gonna be a long day, Babs.
ON SALE 01.30.19

Anyone still following Artgerm. Starting his own comic line if I read correctly.

Also Batgirl #31 ... been waiting a long time for him to do another Batgirl cover. Another Supergirl is in the solicits as well.

Indy, any grading order on this one?
