Source: #Mariners and #Mets talks intensifying to bring Cano/Diaz to NYM. Still have money, medicals and no trade clauses to work on but Sea is now focused on the Mets. Swarzak/Bruce likely to offer some financial counterweight.


Source said a #Mets #Mariners trade has some possibility of crossing finish line tonight. Not sure how many prospects in but Sea has asked particularly on Dunn, Kelenic, McNeil

Very simple where I stand here. If the Mets bring in Cano + Diaz, and unload Bruce + Swarzak, I'm absolutely OK with giving up Kelenic and Dunn. If they wanna throw in another prospect or two down the line, that's great too. But if it's D + K + McNeil. Absolutely not ... no.

The mets are throwing their top prospects away because they still do not want to spend.

What are you talking about? Why can't you understand that Diaz is worth the prospects on his own?

Again, this deal only makes sense if the Mets are going to go out and get another super reliever, a catcher, and a few nice bench bats. This is not a playoff team with just Edwin diaz and robinson cano. So if you are not going to do more, then trading top prospects is dumb.

Let’s say McNeil stays with the Mets. Where will you play the cano/McNeil combo? Cano at first and McNeil second?
