What an excellent conclusion to a great story. So happy for you! Must be an amazing feeling.
In the end it doesn’t matter if the set is bashed by others. You collect for YOU nobody else.

Ooooh. With the Kobe Box! I like it! I still have my Eminence Build-a-box too! Do you have plans for the second tray?

I owned the Kobe Gilded Graph Platinum for a hot second before moving it to Kamino. Those gold Gilded graphs are super pretty. I like the silver base cards more than the golds but only because I see the silver /10 as the "base" and the gold as a parallel. But I sure think they're nice looking! I only have the Dirk.

Ha! I have those moments too. I'm obsessed with a few cards and that is one of them. To think of where that patch came from.... I know it's crazy but that might be my favorite card. I felt dirty putting it at third or fourth on the top 100 list. It's just perfect.

I'm still working on the top 100. I just switched out a big card that I didn't need anymore for a big one that I REALLLY wanted. I'll do a mailday for that one when it arrives.

I'll keep working on the top 100 list and trying to perfect it. I need to figure out a new set to work on..... maybe.

Nah. There response to me was kind of form letter-ish. I was kind of put off by it. Here I am putting together their highest set ever, and I get two sentences with relatively no personal touch? Oh well. Maybe the rep was just having a bad day.

This is a post that I appreciate. Thank you! It took some perseverence!

I like the action shots too! I hadn't noticed that about the Malone and Mourning. You're right!

Work does the same to me sometimes man. Keep going. Thanks for stopping in. It was a blast!

As is often the case with so many sets, my appreciation for the cards grows even more when they can all be seen together. I know many dislike the fat gold signatures on these which is at least somewhat understandable, but I still like most of them. My co-favorites are the Vinsanity and the Webber, both of whom laid down stunning versions of their autos, tastefully exceeding the autograph space. My least favorite is the Hill, who ordinarily has a beautiful autograph, but confined himself to too small of a space for it.

Finally, also really enjoyed checking out your non-set Eminence pieces... just jaw dropping stuff there! I think it's safe to say that if you ever tire of going by 27guy, you should rightly be able to switch to EminenceDude or something like that.
Thanks for the thoughtful response and coming along for the ride. Your favorites and least favorites match mine nearly exactly. The Hill is also my least favorite. He couldn't figure out the pen. All of them that I have seen have that weird studder in the middle of his name. Too bad. Tony Parker is also BAD. Especially because he's the only guy out of 47 who couldn't figure out what color to sign in. At least he got his championship tag right. Lol.

The funny thing about that Vince is that it's literally the only one to surface to date. I put a max bid of some insane amount and then won it for under $300. Webber's autographs in Eminence are incredible. So much detail.

THanks for checking out the non-base stuff. Those are absolute treasures. Every time I look at them, I feel grateful that I didn't listen to the hate.

As for changing to the Eminencedude or whatever, there's a guy who has opened thirty or forty something cases of the stuff and he's kept all of the high end.... and man, he has some just bonkers cards. I have sworn to not tell anyone what he has, but put it this way..... if we took his top ten Eminence cards, and mine, and made a combined top ten list, I don't think I'd get more than 3 or MAYBE 4 cards on that list. His collection is better. But the Bird is my favorite card out of the product.

So you know...congrats on that or whatever.
You're the man. Thanks for always being cool. I like those two cards an awful lot as well! I just picked up another card that I haven't added to that folder yet. I'll do a mailday in the next couple days on my IG to show that one off. You're going to like it.

I had a similar situation while putting the 09/10 NT Nicknames set together. There were 3-4 players (Durant, Shaq, Worthy, and I think Cousy) that were never released. I believe it was 13/14 NT that came out with printing plates and I was able to locate the Durant (actually had 3 plate versions). I never did find the Shaq or Cousy but I was also not using channels like FB or IG at the time. Even though your set is currently incredible I hope the Rose can make its way to you
You're very kind. And you know the feeling! Finishing the numbers off even if you have to use the plates is a really good feeling - that I hope I'll have soon.

I was wondering if anyone would ask that.

I wonder about Penny. He was so iconic that I think he may still get in. I think he should, personally.

I don't think Rose, Wiggins, or Jabari get in. I think PG and John Wall are both maybe's.... but I think everyone else is a shoe-in. Dwight is absolutely in.... his 6 year peak was too good not to get in. Too many DPOY's, and first team honors not to make it.

What I am impressed with and happy about is your achievement. I know you've been passionate about it and it's been a huge undertaking, so I'm really pleased for you that you've done it now. And hopefully that Rose surfaces somewhere. I assume there are four plates for each so surely there's ONE out there for you.
Thanks. Yeah, take a look at the autos in the Imgur link. Most are pretty nice, though several aren't perfect. I couldn't be entirely choosey when dealing with some that have only popped on 2-3 times.

I still think Panini should have done a non-auto portion of the set that included Wilt, Lebron and others that they couldn't have sign. Oh well.

They look GREAT together! We'll find the Rose one day! lol

True story, I clicked through home-run's eBay followers looking for the user that bought the Rose plate but none of them matched the feedback # lol. The buyer of the first Rose plate said they didn't remember buying one even though the seller told me it was them(this was a few months back). I messaged them again with a pic of the Rose but they haven't responded.

Thank you. I agree. Though I’ve often speculated that it’d be more popular and valuable if it wasn’t signed at all. Oh the irony!

As if I didn’t give you enough shout outs. Thanks for being there through it all. I definitely am looking forward to the day that I get to send you that $100. I’ll bump this thread when I do.

Congrats!
There he is! Mr generous himself!

If only the rookies were good. Sadly, they’re not.

If I had my way, I’d have made it at least a 60 card set and done 10 rookies. Maybe even 100 cards. Could have had embiid, Exum, smart, randle. But I understand that panini didn’t want to cannibalize their other high end rookies.

I’m still holding out hope that they do it again. It’s interesting that they did the Kobe eminence and soccer eminence products. Maybe they’ll do another eminence product in two years and just make it a once every five year product. Who knows.

As a set builder myself I can appreciate set building all across the spectrum and I am very happy to see set building still alive and especially at this level. Congratulations are in order, obviously and I don't think I can really add anything new to what has been posted already, but you did a great job putting this one together. Individually, the cards never really did much for me, save for a few here and there, but altogether they look stellar.

The fact that your next project isnt to get the Westbrook, Kawhi and, eventually, the Derrick Rose signed appalls me.

Go beyond the limits. Be better than Panini.

Im also ashamed no one else has tried to convince him to do the same (that I saw).

Shame on all of you.

Not a bad idea at all!

Let's just focus on getting that Rose first.

If anyone can think of any other mediums to find that plate, I am all ears.

Three years in, yeah. I'd have purchased the raw one and then replaced it once an encased card hit.
