Default 2018-19 RUSSELL WESTBROOK thread

Man, I still love watching this guy! But ...

Missed first two games

Game 3:
The good - 32 pts, 12 boards, 8 assists.
The bad - 5 TO's (he does that). 1-6 3PT (he really should only shoot about 3-4 per game - max).
The ugly - 5/11 FT's (WTF? These are free points!). Entire team was 19/30 shooting FT's (64%). Entire team was 9/39 shooting 3's (23%). Horrible D. Loss.

This might be a long year - lol

The good — Russell Westbrook is entertaining as F. The bad — nothing.

Exactly, I just love watching this guy play...so, since I'm not a OKC fan, I could just sit, watch and enjoy without caring about W-L!!

That's why I love him!! Drives in at will, like nothing..Very fun to see!! Keep in mind, I'm just talking about watching him play, make shots, hustle...not talking about team success, etc. I saw a summer pick up game with other NBA stars, I believe last year, he seriously looked like a man amongst boys out there,, I was in awe!! I'm from Houston, so could care less for OKC, but he's a treat to watch, no doubt!!

He could have had about 8 more assists if anybody on the team could hit a shot.

I'm not keen on seeing him directly under the basket for a rebound (shouldn't he be guarding someone?) and I don't know why he can no longer shoot free throws very well, but he is definitely vital to the team.

T-Ferg, however, should be getting minimal minutes, he's useless.

Roberson's injury woes will continue to keep that team where it is.

I think the NBA, overall, is plagued by poor free throw shooting this season. The Nuggets agains the Warriors last night was atrocious. Dudes out here canning 30 footers but split every pair they step to the line to shoot.

I didn't see his first game this year, but I am gonna guess that 2018 Russ is going to look a lot like 2017 Russ and 2016 Russ and... you get the idea. The dude is an incredible talent, but I sort of scratch my head when so many people say he plays hard every possession. He plays hard every possession while he is in control of the ball. Outside of that, he doesn't play very hard. He stands and watches when he doesn't have the ball on offense and for all his physical tools is a below average defender because he doesn't give consistent effort.

Russ is my favorite current player, and by far the most exciting to watch. He plays with the same intensity and passion and that will to win like he's a baby of Kobe and AI.

Even with his faults, I'd have him on my team every day.

Living here in OKC the 0-3 start is obviously disappointing but keep in mind Russ didn't play in the first 2 games. Russ is going to be Russ and that's fine by me. The fans love him here and Paul George obviously wanted to play with him. Russ is going to be just fine.

Sweet Jesus this team is terrible right now!

13pts, 15 boards, 8 assists

0-5 3pt
3-5 FT's
5 TO's
0 steals

PG: 2-10 3pt's. 6-8 FT's

Team: 7/28. After Russ & PG #'s, the rest of the team was 5/13 3pt's.
Team: 14-25 FT's. After Russ and PG #'s, the rest of the team was 5/12 FT's.

It's not just Russ. This team is a bag of rotten nuts!

Great team win!

Stats were routine but 3 steals, a block and only 3 TO's. 1/3 3pt attempts.

Low TO's and less 3pt shooting is great (17 attempts). They need to continue to be a close-to-the basket team. I think that's the reputation they should establish. With Russ driving in, Adams/Grant/Noel/Patterson doing the dirty work and PG roaming. Change of pace with Schroder to give opposing defenses something to make an adjustment to.

Also, new nickname for Patrick Beverley = "B*tch". You can call him aggressive and hard nosed if you want to, but I don't see it that way.

I don't get to watch the games, but I heard about Russ and Bev.... Again. They scuffle almost every time they meet. For like the last six years haha

I'm surprised they haven't fought yet. They should just box and get it over.

I think even if you put them in a boxing ring Pat Bev would take a dive at Russ's knees at some point.

Thunder win!

Russ: 29, 10 boards, 8 assists, 3 steals, 12/24 shooting, 0-3 3pt (still only 3 attempts)

Abrines and Schroder with NICE games!

PG: 0/10 3pt attempts and 4/20 total, BUT, he also had 10 boards, 4 steals and 3 blocks to contribute in other ways. Adams with a ridiculously low 5 FG attempts but 10 boards, 3 steals and 3 blocks.

Jerami Grant was steady, no idea what's going on with TFerg, Noel/Patterson/Diallo provided minimal offense.

What a fun game to watch! Great team game

Russ with 4 steals and only one 3pt attempt (which was missed). He is so freakin' fast and agressive!

I'm starting to feel good about this team if Roberson can come back healthy.

Schroeder gives them a level of depth they've been missing.
