Wrong. They sell cards for free if they feel the value of the promotion of their website outweighs the value of a commission. They benefit from the attention of the sale even if they don’t get “paid”. I, got one, had never heard of that auction site. Now I know it exists.

These auction sites are very good about weeding out their buyers. You have to have references and a Credit Card on file before you can bid. It is best not to wait until the final day of an auction to sign up as you could get shut out.

It definitely was going to be higher than $30K as I said it would earlier. Probably $45-55K is my guess now.
Ohtani is clearly a player that this generation has never seen before and he is tremendous on both sides of the ball. It just comes down to health really |

I just want to know did this guy drop thousands on cases, hit this in one box, one pack, one blaster? This makes opening packs fun. The thrill of the chase.

It's in extended time so I figure each time a new bid comes in the clock goes back to 15 minutes.
153,380!!!

Auction houses have different rules for bidding than eBay. Most of the time the rules are an auction will not close until there are no more bids on a lot for 30 minutes. Goodwin seems to have a 15 minute rule for this auction.

Local card shop purchase on a few hobby boxes. I did think he lost out not selling to Blowout but obviously BO had a buyer for more than $100K.

The bid amounts placed in the sale at www.goodwinandco.com are sometimes also referred to as the hammer prices. A Buyer’s Premium will be added to the winning bid or hammer price and is payable by the purchaser as part of the total purchase price. The Buyer’s Premium is equal to 20% of the winning bid price. For example, in the event you win a lot with a successful bid price (hammer price) of $1,000, then your total cost for that lot will be equal to the $1,000 successful bid price plus the 20% Buyer’s Premium. In this example, the total cost for the lot will equal $1,200 (plus shipping, handling, insurance, and sales tax, if applicable). |

If you can afford to drop $150k on a freaking baseball card, you can probably afford to drop $180k
