At least the Phillies sell out playoff games. Something the Braves seem not to do ever...

Are you sure it's not the other way around? .083/.267/.333 in the post season. Career .268 BA .426 SLG 2 out RISP, .246 BA .437 SLG career late & close.

But what's his batting average on Tuesday day games in August when the temperature is over 89 degrees and the starting pitcher in over 30 years old?

Are you really quoting a three game post season slash line?

Its because they Braves went year, after year, after year. Playoff games were like regular season games to them for a long time. I 100% guarantee that will no longer be the case. But, even if they only sell 1 playoff ticket, it will be more than the Phillies do this year.

It's pretty much all anyone ever has. God forbid Mickey Mantle spent his career on the Washington Senators. Probably would have looked something like KGJr or Mike Trout.

The Phillies imploded. I'm embarrassed by them right now. That being said, not only did the Phillies sell out the post-season for 5 years, they sold out the stadium for the regular season during that time too.

A Braves fan should not be judging how good or bad other fans are.

No fanbase should be judging any other fanbase

Every fanbase has the good and the bad

Unless it's the Marlins because they don't really have any fans to judge at all

There is one of those mythical Philly fans. Classiest fan base in sports.

I didn't think they appeared unless the team was actually winning?

In all seriousness. I'll be happy if he signs anywhere... but Philly. I've been hearing about it for a few years now that it's guaranteed he's going there. Would like to see the Angels flip the script.

Like ALL other teams, when the team sucks, attendance is down. In Philly, the team sucked more than it doesn't so often the fanbase is stays home.

But some fanbases don't support their team when they win, like the Braves.

I am happy that nobody has mentioned throwing snowballs at Santa yet...yet...

Context needed. Team offered 9 year deal, Trout's agent said no it's either a 4 year deal locking up his arb years at a fixed rate or a 14 year "lifetime" deal at peak market w/ player opt outs. 6 years no opt outs was the compromise. This was all fleshed out at length in Sports Illustrated back when he signed the contract but keeps getting thrown around incorrectly w/out the context.

Let's address this:

LA - fan nearly kills another fan
Cleve - fan throws beer bottles at QB
Chic - fans run onto the field and physically attack 1st base coach
Chic - fan pours beer on opposing player in CF
Philly - one guy throws 2 small batteries at JD Drew
Philly - fans boo and throw snowballs at a drunk guy in a Santa suit in 1967

Off the top of my head

What if they just offered him $30M/year to play until he wants to retire?

Off the top of my head

Philly also had the guy that made himself vomit on a police officer and his daughter while being escorted out of the stadium. The guy and his friend were spitting on people in front of them prior to being thrown out.

Susan Finklesteins desperate need for tickets... leads to arrest.

I know there are more that I'm also forgetting.

Plan:

Step 1: Convince Pujols to retire
Step 2: Pay Trout with Pujols money

2014 MLB Standings

Angels 98-64
Orioles 96-66
Tigers 90-72
Royals 89-73

Red sox 71-91
Astros 70-92
Cubs 73-89
Diamondbacks 64-98

A lot can change in 3-4 years, just because a team is good/bad now, doesnt mean its going to be that way forever

LOL, seriously...

You are grumpy and opinionated, but you are better than that. There are a list of reasons why the Angels aren't winning, and Trout does not appear anywhere on it. Just a pathetic attempt to twist a 3-game series into a narrative.

He is making 34 million this year. 10 year deal would only be 300 million at your price, so no. Have to be 450 million, methinks
