Those two were mine and those were the listed price for each. They didn’t sell for that though. I sent offers and they were accepted. I sold three cards shortly after listing them last night: Panik $600, Castellanos $400, and Happ $550. I own a good bit of the pop on those and just started listing them

In the brown row box with the black foam in there. The box wrapped in bubble wrap and placed in the shipping box with the card cases and living boxes in the box as well, brand new.

This is NOT an excuse for Topps, nor a knock on anyone complaining about condition, just some additional thoughts.

I open 100s of cases each year I can say that greater than 50% of packed cards are exact same way, especially with any color border, even edge like these. The Series 2 black autos that just came out...every one I hit has more white chips and white edges than black at this point...each year gypsy queen autos and parallels are chipped, and so on and so on.
The ones without borders often still come dinged...I mean open a pack of base Topps then look at the corners....many will be dinged.

In all my years of busting if never sent in for replacements, as I'd have to send in so much and always be waiting...I always felt it was assumed the cards were not mint, and that bordered cards were condition-sensitive and even that some sets are graded on a curve as a result. Most collectors understand and can see from the photos etc.

Seeing these pictures is a big bummer, and similar to many I've posted to twitter over the years when I get 500 autos and every one has dings/chips/white showing and I share that. It's disheartening. It should not happen.
On autos, I've been told it has to due more with the 'travel' of the card vs the printing/packing...meaning, cards printed, shipped to athlete, who does not always take best care, then re-boxed and shipped back, etc.
But in this day in age, although I'm sure they are printing & shipping these as fast as possible, especially on non-autos that don't even have to be packed out, you would hope this would be a rare occurrence.

I think most buyers would understand, especially on a $5 card. No one should be expecting to get a 10 every time from any online sellers IMO.
Even more so on a widespread, known issue like this. I feel like people get what they get, same way they would from Topps.
This has only become an issue due to the set's popularity and the insane amount the graded cards are jumping up to...so i feel for guys like Jake, and others who are re-selling or pre-selling. Perhaps start noting that cards may not be mint, but nrmt and will often have printing imperfections...they still should sell for $5...I mean if folks want to pay $5 and turn it in to a $100, $500 psa 10 or whatever, well, perhaps wait until live and see pics, and pay a little more, I don't know.

Some of those JR cards may still be 10s and 9s though, but some are definitely more rough than others. I've got a few psa 10 that definitely show some white, which I expect even on a 10
I have yet to return a Living Set card but perhaps I too should open the packages and examine them if they are replacing them because some of those Robinsons do look rougher, but also look like just about every color border card I pull from packs, so not sure I trust the replacement process at this point either.

I don't doubt that, I feel the same
Having 100s of black border parallels #d/67 cards from series 2 right now or dozens of black border 1983 autos #d/99
they all look worse in person than in scans even...I try to make that clear, but thankfully in all these years I don't get returns or complaints because I think most buyers realize it with the black borders and I include a note in the listings just in case

if this was a pack-pulled product or not a popular grading set, I don't think it would be an issue, as the pack-pulled products no one generally talks about condition anymore despite there being problems still more often than not, but we breakers also typically sell as is, so different type of deal here

They should use the boxes they use for factory sets, like these...
They are much tighter (that's what she said) than the brown boxes...
And keep the red & black borders up
