SGC could skyrocket in popularity right now if they just redesigned their holders into something modern looking.

A true third competitor would be great.

The only reason they are doing this is because Nationals is just around the corner. Think how well it would go over if people who dropped off orders there last year didn't have them back by this years Nationals.
I'm happy they finally said something officially and are hopefully taking action. I'm approaching 11 months now

Almost 11 months for me. I am really at a point of fatigue with this company and the way they do business. Either grade my cards or return them to me along with the $500+ dollars I forked over for your "service".

Also, I have attempted to speak to one of their customer service reps, but after about 4 tries when they just spoon fed me info they have been coached to say to everyone, I pretty much came to the conclusion that emailing and calling them is pointless.

Excellent move by Beckett. Extreme, but the right move since hiring more people wasn't working out for whatever reason.

Kudos to them for also admitting their mistake, and shedding some light on their situation.

This is definitely good news for anyone with long overdue submissions. And yes, a bit of face saving too...with the Nationals coming up in two months. The move will lose some business for them...but in the long run, there will be more satisfied customers...and I'm sure when they reopen up the 10 day service after the Nationals, people will be back for more.

I wish that back in September when I sent them my cards that they would have some insight to say... "hey, it's going to be around 335 days before you get them back." Might have thought about sending them differently or not sending them at all... They've owned my cards for exactly 279 days, only got about 56 more to go! Yippee.

I guess the announcement should be good news that my submission from the last day of the National should be done before this year's National.

Sad that it gets to 11 months before they think that it is unacceptable. LOL

That is a NO for me. I'm wondering if I can pick them up in Cleveland and get a refund on the shipping.

Now that the ten day option has been shut down it will be interesting to see how quickly they begin to catch up.

I guess they have to process the ten day orders that came in on the days just prior to shutting down this service, but once these are out of the way those of us who have outstanding orders from July and August last year may finally get the 'your order has shipped' E-mail.

I hope so!

Has anybody’s non guaranteed posted or has anyone gotten their order back since they put the 10 day service on hold?

Not here but I'm "only" at the 8 month mark so I probably have another two to go. As mentioned by others, while I find this ridiculous, the part I'm angriest about is their policy to charge you upon receipt of the cards and not when the order is processed. I've got $4K tied up in a large order for almost a year now which is killing me.

PSA turnaround time for their bulk submissions is now about 1-2 weeks logging time, then approximately 65 business days for the grades to pop. Some people get bulk submissions of over 100 cards done in a couple weeks, most take a couple months. It's really the luck of the draw. But very few (of regular cards graded, not tickets, packs or auto authentications) take longer than four months from the package landing at PSA.

Yep thats my biggest complaint don’t charge me until a few days before doing the job. Hard to think of a service that you payup front and then wait a year for the service to get done.

Does a contractor building a $250,000 house take a full year to complete the job?

Only if you pay them 100% before they even think about starting the project.

Still nobody getting back non-guaranteed orders? With the shut down of the 10-day service, I thought we'd see these pouring out. I'm guessing they are prioritizing the 2 and 5-day orders, then group discounts to keep the big boys "happy", then the non-guaranteed.

I don't think Beckett has the capacity to grade as much as we'd like to think they can. When you consider that many nonguaranteed orders are going to be 100+ cards, I'd say it's realistic to say they can take care of roughly 6 nonguaranteed orders a day. I'm betting there's 1,000+ orders in the queue.

Still nothing from my National submitted order.

When BGS announced the shut down of the 10-day service, of course they have to still prioritize the 2-day and 5-day orders. They also have to prioritize the 10-day orders that came in just before the cutoff.

So in all likelihood, it would really take 10 business days after the 10-day service cutoff until BGS would probably start working on non-guaranteed orders.

I don't think BGS is prioritizing the "big boys." The people who submit through the "big boys" are just everyday collectors. At this point, the "big boys" and regular customers are pissed off. I don't think there's much benefit to BGS for differentiating between the two. BGS needs to get these orders done regardless of who sent them in.

the 10 day order suspension..... i don't think people are getting the real picture; at least the way i see it

psa now has a 22 dollar charge at a 30 day return level

bgs has a 30 dollar charge at the 5 day level, but only 25 dollars if you send in more than 50... and 20 if more than 100.......... so 2 dollars less per card than psa and 25 business days faster if you do more than 100? wow

so 22 each for 30 days

25 each (at 50 or more) for 5 days, or 20 each (for 100 or more)

to me those appear to be parallel levels... people can either group sub to get to 50 or 100 or just wait until they have enough; this way bgs is dealing with far less orders which is great for them but not necessarily that many less cards, also great for them

there is no reason for bgs financially to ever bring back the 10 day level; it makes no sense at this point

so i am calling it right now..... people will wait and wait, bgs will keep stalling on when the 10 day is coming back.... then one day they will tell you it's gone forever
