My question is, anyone have a thought on why basic Topps Now guys are getting PR between 200 and 400 but basic Living Series guys are 3000ish??

3 cards a week (and selling for a week), compared to, upwards of 70 cards a week
and people dont want to miss out like they did on Topps Now

For me, I like retro look and art used which separates them from TN

It's an awesome concept.... the set will go on year after year... hopefully the same design... same artist...and hopefully they don't ruin it with Autographs

In 2020 when they do card #189 and it's Felix Hernandez... I want it in 1953 design and Mayumi Seto as the artist

I think Topps could send this thing over the top if they introduced one card for a special occasion (no-no, 4 HR, etc) and sell it for only one day. Obviously, as long as that guy has not had a card yet. I would love to see the most possible Living sets at around 500. If there ever is a card with a 500 PR, expect to see them $100+. On the flipside, I feel that the PR numbers on LS will really make Now stick out. If cards with 3500+ PR's are selling for $30, won't people want to start hopping on the Now cards with 100-300 PR's?

Only having 1 card in the LS is what is making the commons sell well. And the set won't end and start over like TN. And WAY too many cards in the TN set... so many of the NOW moments are suspect and don't really deserve a card.... like 99.25% of the Walk off cards. Some are nice but do we really need a walk off card for every team who has a walk off win? NO

For 1 week I'd love if all eBay flippers took a week off to see what the actual print runs would be. TN and LS

I agree..
For me, a walk off should only be counted as a walk off in the bottom of the 9th... All others are home team winning in extra innings..

I totally agree. Topps Now would have been sick if it was simply for historic moments. They probably could have sold those cards for $19.99 or more probably. Too late now.

These are selling well after the fact, I sold a set 1 bundle for $60 shipped and that's going to end up being the starting point I have a feeling. I know a lot of people are probably going to start buying extra sets to flip, but with prices like these it's going to be sustainable I think.

I mentioned this earlier, but for those who buy an extra set, try to buy directly through Topps for the box (if you aren't buying 20 at a time), it is a deal "sweetener."

My theory is that every time a "star" is introduced in the set, it brings in new people and they may realize they would like a card from a previous set or may even decide to build the set (especially now while the set is just getting started). As more people come into the set, more may be willing to pay extra cash for a PC player they didn't know had a card previously. I think team sets will ultimately do well for this reason in the future.

there will literally always be new people discovering this set.
every single week.
every single month.
every single year.

those people will want what they missed.

I also agree now there will be more & more flippers joining the party. So print runs will only go up from here for the commons...I seriously doubt that any card will be less than the Markakis PR going forward...

This one is pretty straight forward to me.

I am only in for base. Topps Now, I stick to PC guys and truly memorable moments. I am in on all Trouts, Harpers, Judges, Bellingers, Kershaws, Ohtanis (at the moment) and games I see in person. Cost on these starts to pick up quickly. I spent more on the TN and TBT Ohtani rookies than I spent on the Living Set and I like them much less.

Living Set, at $15 a week and only card ever made of the player in the uniform, it's not going to break the bank for me and I will have a beautiful set that is max 1/2,678 possible. I couldn't afford to do that with TN with so many cards each week/day.
