When I worked as a line cook at a greasy spoon restaurant, I would make a grilled cheese with egg salad and bacon. It was awesome.

A large schlotskys original on sourdough bread. I doubt I spelled it correctly and don't know how far it goes regionally but those are da bomb.

You read my mind. I was in Montreal a couple months ago and ate there 3 out of the 4 days, absolutely phenomenal.

As for a sandwich I can get regularly; a cuban will do

I'm with you on this... I recently was craving some tuna salad, so I semi-followed a recipe online and made tuna melts with it. Instantly became one of my go-to's for a quick meal.

I know, but the poll only allowed 10 choices. Grilled cheese clearly should have been one, based on some of these answers.

Tuna salad is the bomb. I'm actually surprised 0 votes for tuna yet.

Stuffed hot peppers with hot Italian sausage on a hoagie roll with marinara sauce and melted provolone.
It was actually a sandwich that was offered down at PNC park a few years ago. A client up the street from me that owns a Italian restaurant makes it for me on request.
