It really makes me mad that they're starting Abrines in Roberson's place. Add a guy who only does shooting to a lineup with 4 other scorers...
And then the bench do very little because they don't have a lot there.
Start Grant, run Abrines in the second unit. It's so obvious.
Clarkson would have been great on this team but his salary would have made that impossible. Unless we'd offered Melo..........

With such little depth it's amazing they didn't find a way to pull off a deal at the deadline.

That's the thing though..they have no desirable assets to trade off outside of TFerg who i don't think they wanna trade so soon. The bench is beyond awful. Patterson has been such a huge bust..i really thought he'd be solid bench contributor..i can't believe Raymond Felton is the best player on the 2nd unit

The Cavs 'bench' won that game. According to ESPN (I know, I know) every 'bench' player for the Cavs was +8 or better, which includes Korver and he didn't do anything except run around for 8 minutes (0/0/1 board, 1 steal). Every Cavs starter was -1 or worse (including LeBron with his brilliant 37/8/8 line). I say 'bench' because they could be starters at some point (maybe).

Cavs look good! It's early, but they have a solid bench now. Maybe not beat the Warriors or Rockets deep, but Eastern Conference deep.

Meanwhile, the Thunder absolutely miss Roberson. Huestis and Patterson play a combined 25 minutes and their slash line - 0 points, 4 boards, 0 assists, 0 steals, 0 blocks, NO shots attempted. Jerami Grant is playing very well though.

RW/George/Melo shoot at <50% including 8/25 from 3pt land. Only 5 TO's combined.

Adams is awesome! 22pts, 17 boards (12 offensive).

Well that was an interesting first game back... Russ having missed 10 of his 13 previous shots hits the game winner against the lowly Kings, Melo nailing treys, PG with a big all-round game.
And for some reason both Yahoo and Espn show the box score with over 4 min left, even though the game finished a few hours ago?

RW was not looking good shooting for a good stretch but still doing everything he can to help win the game - and win it they did!

This is going to be a very interesting 2nd half

Russ getting a triple double and the game winning buzzer beater 3 felt an awful lot like the performance against the Nuggets April 9th last year; so much fun to watch. I'm not surprised they blew a 23pt lead though. They seem to be able to regularly start out strong, that first quarter was bananas, but they just begin to collapse as the game progresses.

If they could play 4 quarters how they played in the 1st, I'd say we had a Finals contender. But given their inconsistency, I don't believe they'll make it out of round 2. I'm still hopeful they find a way to click in the second half of the season.
