Question Question - Maximising your eBay sale

just a question for people out there....

is there a specific time (generally US time) that is best for Auctions to end to get the most bidding action? or is it really much of a muchness? (those that want the card will find it during the course of the auction and bid whenever)

Is it bad to have a bball card end on a sunday in the US given the attention to Football on Sundays?

And do you think its beneficial to end an a card on a night when that specific player plays a game?

just interested to hear peoples thoughts.

Tuesday and Wednesday night (8pm PST) end times sound like the best to me. Most people are home (US-wise) during that time (with the exception of Hawaiians I suppose) and likely to be least busy then (Thursday-Monday = more traveling/outdoor activities [?], NFL games [weekend/weeknight], etc).

I should qualify this by saying I don't do many auction listings haha

I would say Monday thru Thursday, at 7-9 PM Eastern Time, or Sunday at around 4 Eastern Time.

The most auctions seem to end 9:00-11:30 EST on Sunday nights. I can tell you from experience that these auctions always have lots of last minute bidding and snipes. I thought it was universally accepted that 7 day auctions ending on Sunday evening were the best chance of maximizing potential. Followed by 10 day and 24 hour auctions that also end on Sunday.

The one or two times I’ve gotten a “steal” it has been cards that awkwardly end midweek, especially at times when a lot of people may be at work on the West Coast or sleeping in Asia all while it is early evening in Boston.

Avoid Holidays, early hours, and PWCC/Probstein cluster endings.

I notice a lot of the big auctions I follow end Monday lunch time and Friday lunch time in Australia.

So Thurs and Sunday nights in the US.

Sundays have the bulk of the auction endings, but I've always avoided Sundays since bids are spread to thin across various auctions.
