All of my pending orders are cancelled. My processing orders, which I received an email on are still good.

I have credit card holds for all pending and processing still

I placed mine at 12:21 CST.

I used my PayPal Debit Card (the only card I make any purchases with).

The funds were taken out of my PayPal account, but the charge says "Authorization". Panini would have to go in and "capture" my payment. I expect the purchase to be cancelled, I'm just hoping they do so sooner rather than later as I've had the funds basically put on hold. I should have just used my CC and then withdrew from my PayPal account, but I didn't realize I'd have this issue.

Do you know what might have triggered that cancellation? Also what range was your last 3 digits of your order number, 100, 200, 300, etc?

I had one of the first orders in according to a Panini employee who I talked to yesterday. That order for 2 boxes can't be found in the system even though I have email confirmation. Another order I have which was pending was canceled. I called Chase and they have not canceled anything.

All in all I have charges for 6 boxes (3 more that I never received any confirmation from) but yet nothing showing in the system.

I truly believe the higher ups have no idea how big of blotch job this was. This was evident in the tweeter response.

I feel bad for the customer service reps. They are going to have a tough day and none of this was their fault. Panini higher ups need to get together ASAP this morning to get a grip on what happened yesterday.

Was just looking at my "Order History" to see if my one box was "Processing" or "Pending." I realized the only other thing I bought from them was a case of 2012-13 Prizm Retail back in January of 2013; 20 boxes for $1,470.11...wish I still had that sealed case.

Panini pulled off the first "business practices eBay 1/1."

Blowout offering $250? That's tempting with no worry of a bad buyer.

So far so good on my 1 lowly box, I'm going to bust mine though, was planning to open/gift a larger amount but after yesterday I'll be happy to get one and enjoy it.

Rookie /8's are going to be pretty valuable, especially if a lot of people don't bust them.

3 orders processing, 2 cancelations, 7 charges on my credit card that got posted. Not sure if I should wait to call my credit card or not yet.

I just realized the one "order" I got in yesterday and was charged for is sitting on my CC right now as "authorization". Meaning if Pannini doesn't capture it within a few days it will be released back to the account. I never received an email confirmation and sent something to CS about it, but my guess is it will never be processed and I'm SOL.

Huge waste of time for everyone involved.. If they're going to announce big releases like this ahead of time they should be prepared for the potential traffic spike that comes along with it, plain and simple.. I've worked in the web hosting industry for 15 years now and even the smallest of businesses have many different options to plan ahead for large traffic spikes on their sites. The message we all saw yesterday indicates that they reached the limits of their hosting plan. Those limits should have been tested long ago and a plan should have been put in place to either temporarily increase limits, or redirect requests to a secondary server if one was too bogged down. Testing for this scenario is NOT hard and there are actually services where you can test for free or for very little money, find out the limits of your commerce software, then plan around that.

Maybe all that was done and it was still just too much for their site to handle, we'll probably never know. My guess is they just threw the switch, the host blocked excess traffic and what did get through killed their probably one server, and they just threw their hands in the air like "hmmmm.. I wonder why that happened..". Thank god they're the only game in town for licensed NBA stuff right?..

If these things end up selling for $400 each and I actually get my 5 boxes - I’m selling them all. Be crazy not to.

I did.

You had to use a PayPal debit or business card to do so as Panini doesn't accept PayPal as a direct form of payment.

Panini would have to go in and "capture" the payment, otherwise it's going to linger for 29 days. They will not go capture the order, but I'm not sure they know how to cancel the transaction either. PayPal will wait for the merchant to perform some (any) type of action, otherwise they will let the authorization expire.

My Authorization Exipiration Date is January 5th, 1970.

Not only did these boxes cost me $259.80 (thanks tax), but now I'm going to need to purchase 1.21 gigawatts to go back in time so that I can get my money when the purchase expires.

My order history is completely blank on my account with them (this was going to be my first time placing on order).

It's no big deal is it? So you didn't get Prizm boxes at $120. Unless you're fanatic Prizm collector, who cares? I only bought 2 (which became 6 in my confirmation e-mail), and I don't even want the other 4, 5 boxes. I just did this for curiosity.

There are far better products than Prizm (I love NT, Impeccable, and Immaculate) I think for Prizm, most of it is hype and curiosity.

How is the utter failure of a product launch of a hugely anticipated product, from the only licensed NBA sports card manufacturer I might add..no big deal? When I said "for everyone involved", I truly meant everyone involved. From the guys like me who waited hours to get an order in to "not really" get an order in, to the Panini CS reps who will likely be sorting this out for weeks. Everyone involved.

Personally I could have my order go through or not and it's not a huge deal, I'll move on either way. But the lasting effects of this entire ordeal, for something that could have likely been prevented, is what I was pointing out in my first post.

The whole "ordeal" was caused by extremely massive demand.

Seems like Panini is doing something right or you guys wouldn't be wasting 3 hours to buy their products right?
