You think he's hitting 13 more homers? Zero chance imo.

Say next year he hits 40 HRs again... cuts down his strike out total... you think his GEM Chrome Autos will reach $1,000 again? Not a chance. They will go up... but where will they bottom out at? The MLB offseason is a LONG one.
I don't know about that only because of who he plays for. If he was playing for Tampa Bay or another smaller market I would agree with you.

No.

14 HRs mixed in with 70 Ks... nope

if he drastically cuts down on his Ks.... say he hits the 14 HRs to reach 50... and only Ks 30-35 times in the last 40 games... they might spike...

Right now $550-600... but a week ago $650-700. By the time he reaches 50 HRs... his Chromes might be $450-500 on avg. They will spike from that... maybe to $700-800.... but not back to $1,000+

August 1st.

min sub 9.5/10 base autos were selling for $850

August 20th.

quad 9.5 9.5/10 base auto sold for $525

It's HARD to gain that back after such a quick fall.

At this point buyers are going to be scared of his next big slump even if he does catch fire next season. Going to be very hesitant which in turn will create lower prices. Going to be slim to none that want to go big on him. Major red flags now.

You guys buy all you want, I'm aiming to break even at this point. Glad I didn't put a second mortgage on my house for his cards like some

It's always tough to gain back peak hysteria prices during a rookie year...from any sport.

It usually only happens if the player regains mvp posture the next year, or if they've established themselves as a perennial top 5-10 talent in the league (Harper, Trout, Bryant/Machado (this pre-season), Correa during his hot streak)

It's definitely possible though, but perspective investors will be quite rattled by the sequence of events that lead to his decline. It was anything short of gradual, as opposed to a linear progression.

And that's not even his peak.... that was like 2-3 weeks before those prices. $950-1,000+ was his peak avg.

Come on you guys...rookies hit 40 plus home runs ALL the time! And they NEVER slump! This Judge guy is a bust, unload your cards now! He doesn't even play for a team with a huge following!

There's no doubting his immense talent and 'potential.'

But the line of reasoning with investors is they've seen an almost historical stretch with unsustainable numbers...followed by numbers that would not allow the common positional player to hold a spot on an MLB roster.

So obviously his talent lies somewhere between the two faces he's shown thus far. The big question is....where?

I'm speaking solely from a potential buyer's perspective.

I personally projected him before the massive hysteria as a potential Stanton type. I did not see him carrying a .3xx+ average like Trout. But he has massive power, which also carries massive k rates. Is that a terrible thing if you're a Yankee fan? Absolutely not. As a potential buyer at current prices? Probably so.

This thread has opened my eyes to how ruthless people in this community are. This specific Blowout community. Every group.. .those who were flaunting their insane profits over others during Judge's hot streak, those who are boastful they got out at the right time and feel "sorry" for those who didn't, those who didn't have a stake in it but now seem to be enjoying that those who did are losing considerable money -- a bunch of grown men saying "I told you so" by posting price comps as if its not there for everybody to see. I'm sure I am missing a few classes.

I've never witnessed such blatant schadenfreude in my life lol and the saddest thing is probably half of the claims in this thread regarding what everyone has achieved financially in the wake of Judge's dominance and futility are probably lies

Fair amount of anti Yankee sentiment hoping for him to fail. Fair amount of overly defensive people who have way too much $ invested.

Let this be a lesson kids, only spend big $ on things YOU like to collect and want for your PC. No ones buying a second home with baseball card profits.
