I think you guys should go for it. Crowder, Bradley or Smart and the Brooklyn Pick for Drummond.

An IT/Bradley(Smart)/Hayward/Horford/Drummond team can beat Cleveland. And you still have Brown, Tatum and the Lakers pick for the future.

I agree that team could definitely beat Cleveland. Drummond would be an awesome addition

As I've said before, the Celtics are not beating Cleveland unless they figure out how to hide Isaiah Thomas on defense. He's simply too much of a defensive liability because of his height, and Cleveland has too many offensive weapons for the Celtics to be able to get away with playing only four functional defenders.

Now I'm gonna start dreaming of Drummond all summer playing in Boston. I really like him, and think his energy and defensive post presence would push Boston back into title contention

That Drumond offer might be the craziest thing I have ever seen.

Theres a reason why Dwight Howard is turning into a dinosaur. The big man in the middle is dying.

If you can get him for cheap, sure but for 2 starters and a #1 pick, maybe a #1 pick in the draft?

Crazy talk.

Saw Celtics could be interested in Marc Gasol, not sure how it would work financially, but would like to see a lineup of Gasol/Horford/Hayward/Bradley/IT

Drummund is not very good IMO. His on/off numbers show almost no impact. Has no offensive game outside of 5 ft and his team consistently defends better when he is on the bench.

Some noise around Marc Gasol....not sure about that fit though. Celtics are going to play a lot of small ball so it would have to be someone that fits that mold better.

All the talk about needing to move a rotational player in order to fit Hayward under the cap. Is that because the cap was projected at $102 mil and actually sits at $99 mil? Is it simply the 3 mil they need to open up? I ask because if that is the case it significantly impacts the C's. They would be in a much better situation to make another trade if they could simply match salaries. Or if they could make a deal without the rest of the league knowing they had to make a deal.

They needed to moves some $ even at $102 but could have just got away with Rozier. The $99mil means it has to be one of Smart/Jae/Bradley.

Kinda curious what cap saving move the C's will make, they won't get full value if a team is absorbing all the salary in a deal but for a guy like Crowder they should be able to get something solid. I'd love the Spurs to absorb any of Crowder, Rozier or Smart but the only asset they have they can attach is a 1st rounder for next draft, only young asset they have is Dejounte and the C's don't need him and the Spurs likely wouldn't move him since they view him as their future starting PG solution, I think he factored in pretty heavily in the FO not going after Hill too hard.

Expect Ainge to get solid value on whichever guy he moves for cap reasons to sign Hayward, I think he would prefer dealing with a Western conference team than any potential playoff teams in the East. Expect them to chase a rim protector either in FA or through trade as well.

The Celtics offered Jae Crowder to late lottery teams leading up to June's draft, per league sources. Boston asked for pick, young player.

That's a lot to ask for from a likely rebuilding team that needs all the youth/upside guys they can get.

I don't expect Ainge to get that kind of Haul for Crowder, he just doesn't help a rebuilding team enough to give up a good pick and youth for. It seems like Crowder might be the odd man out right now though, Expecting them to get a mid first rounder or a decent cheap young player from someone if Crowder is the outgoing player for cap purposes. He's most valuable to a solid playoff team but not a lot of those have cap or a quality pick to give Ainge.

That was at the draft, obviously we don't have any leverage any more with everyone knowing we need space to sign Hayward

Teams know they have to dump space but if it's Crowder they're going to move they'll have plenty of suitors bidding against each other. They won't get full value with a team absorbing all the salary in a swap but Crowder is on a great contract and Ainge will add another asset to the war chest. NOP might be the team that has the best 1st rounder to offer in a deal but I don't know if they have any space to absorb a contract after that Jrue deal.
