Recent KD PC additions with a couple white whales speared

Hi everyone,

I know there is quite a bit of hate for Kevin Durant still after he moved to the Warriors from the Thunder. I can understand the resentment that many fans of other teams feel as it created a super-team that made it seem a certainty of what the finals match-up would be even before the season started.

Anyhow, this post has nothing to do with that. If any of you don't know me, I've been collecting KD cards for a long time now and will be a fan of his no matter what team he plays for. To me, Durant is just a great player and it has been fun to watch his career unfold over the years.

I recently added some major cards of his for my PC and just wanted to share here. Hope some of you enjoy and always appreciate your comments!

2007-08 Topps First Edition Kevin Durant Parallel RC /119
There's is a lot of love for Topps Chrome and refractors which is much deserved, but I think these ones are pretty cool also and quite rare, so had to pick one up while the opportunity arised.




2016-17 National Treasures Colossal Kevin Durant Jersey Auto /49
This one was acquired through a group break that I participated in recently. It is actually my first KD card ever that was somewhat self-pulled, so it will always have a special place in my collection. Also, being a KD fan and card collector, I hadn't yet acquired a card with him in a Warriors jersey and was looking for one. Getting one this way was awesome.



White whale #1: 2015-16 Panini Immaculate Noble Nameplates Kevin Durant Letterman "D" Patch 1/6
Super hard to find and unique game-worn letterman patch. Ever since KD moved to the Warriors, his OKC card prices have fell through the floor and finally this whale was speared!

Congratulations on your additions! Great to see such massive cards go to a true KD collector's home. I echo your sentiments about his move. Although I don't necessarily agree with his decision, I still love KD as a player and I've always loved his humble, mild-mannered persona. I too hope to pick up more and more of his stuff, especially from his Seattle/OKC days.

Thank you very much your kind comments and I hope I'm worthy of being labelled a true collector! Truthfully, I've sold a lot of his more valuable cards for profit in the past but always kept what I could afford to. I think at this point, my current KD PC is strictly NFS though! Anyway, it's always great to meet another KD fan and I hope you get to pick up some great stuff for your collection as well!

Hey, whether you've had to sell stuff in the past or not, which is always understandable, you're a fan of his, which is ultimately what counts right? Hopefully you can continue to expand what looks like an amazing collection!

Great to meet you as well, and I'm definitely hoping to add to my KD collection. It's not very expansive because of the cost of KD's and I've been a Kings guy for life primarily so that's where I try to focus my collection, but hopefully I'll have more KD to share this summer. Been eyeing some stuff, but haven't come across prices that I'm willing to throw at anything quite yet.

P.S. I really love that Letterman. I love Immaculate and that picture is perfect for that card.

Wow, so much awesome stuff. I didn't even know the Topps had a parallel, that's a really cool card. And the logoman and letterman obviously speak for themselves. Beautiful pickups.

I agree with you and miss some of the cards I've had to sell, but am ultimately very grateful of what I have today. Thank you so much and I hope you'll share your additions with the forums when the time comes.

The Immaculate Letterman is one of my favorite cards right now. Hope they make a similar one of his in a GSW jersey soon!!

Thanks for the comment! Yes the first edition is quite rare but there is an even rarer parallel known as the copper gold version which is #'d out of 50. There's also the gold parallel which is #'d out of 2007. Here's one:

It's always great to meet another KD fan. Thank you for you kind comment. I bought and sold a lot of his cards (mostly exquisites and chromes) over the years and these cards I now own are pretty much paid for from the profits from doing that. Because of current fees (shipping, commission, taxes) I don't know if doing that is really worth it anymore, but there are always opportunities that spring up from time to time in many different places. I wish you all the best with your future collecting goals!
