And we have a winner for money grubber of the year. To absolutely no ones surprise it is the egotistical Michael Irvin. Michael wants $125 for a flat/mini and $150 for everything else. You want an inscription? That will cost $50 more. Way overpriced in my opinion, but I realize he is a Cowboy and they have a huge following so a bit of a premium there. But the real sleaze bag move is this. If Troy Aikman and Emmitt Smith have already signed the item, then he wants $235. Why??? Triplets, he says. Do you get a special triplets only version of his autograph??? I'm curious to see if Smith and Aikman have such fees as well. It sure wouldn't surprise me if Emmitt did but I hope Aikman has more class then that.

I don't know much about hockey so I don't know if Mr. Duguay was any good, but I am pretty happy with the other two. I know in years past you could get in line a couple times to get these VIP party guys. If you got Canseco and Archibald a couple times that just paid for about half of the lower end VIP pass. Not to bad in my opinion.

I'm getting Canseco to sign an A's mini helmet since I already have an autographed baseball from him. I'm not sure yet on Archibald. Like I said, we VIPs have had him twice already, so I have an autographed 8x10 and an autographed Sports Illustrated.

Usually you can get them once at the VIP Party and then again when they go out to the show floor for their free signing out there. With all of the VIPs, it would be really hard to get someone twice in it as the lines tend to be long.

While I certainly can't argue that there are big names at the National this year, I think that those who are National veterans are yawning at the list of the signers because it is just a retreading of the same names we see every year. We need some fresh big name faces!!!! Tri-Star has got to try harder then this. By far the worst VIP list also, going to save a lot time here because most you couldn't even resell for the cost of a picture.

What does it take to get Ken Griffey Jr. to go to one of these? I keep holding out hope that one day he might be there, but nope.

Most big names, like Jr., are under exclusive contracts with major corporations.

I don't mind having some repeat players, especially if folks cannot go every year. I anxiously await the lineup of the baseball players and any Pittsburgh players, so it looks good to me again this year. The real disappointment is the autograph tickets that come with the platinum pass. Last year's had great baseball players with any item and inscription tickets.
