Wait, there are people still willing to buy the crap (99% of it is) that Panini cranks out?

If you are busting wax at this price point still, you need to attend a gamblers anonymous meeting.

If you want to collect cards, collect cards. If you want to gamble, go to a casino.

If you're a football fan from the football forum, please go back. I have ten unnecessary comments to say to yours, but I'll hold back.

This is solid advice and I'm not being sarcastic either. Seriously I cannot fathom how people are willing to spend $2,400 on a case only to get back maybe a 1/4 of what they spent if they get lucky.

I guess some people just like wasting money... Smart people take that $2,400 and invest in the stock market and we'll see who's better off in 5 years

No, it's a bogus argument. By that train of thought no one should go to a movie, eat at a fancy restaurant, go on vacation etc.

The real advice should be to only spend disposable income on hobbies and luxuries.

Are you going on vacation in hopes that you find buried treasure? Are you eating at a fancy restaurant in the hopes that you find a diamond in your filet mignon?

If you're spending $2,400 on a case of NT in the hopes that you get something to flip and make money on it's gambling and you may as well go to a casino.

If you're blowing money because you like to collect NT then yea advice would be only spend disposable income. I still think it's a poor way to spend that much cash even if you have it since you can just buy singles for way cheaper but hey, to each his own.

Hatred for Panini has been discussed adnauseam. They produce cards no better or no worse than UD or Topps. They all have hiccups. YOU choose the cards you like and like many, if 90s are your thing or vintage, that's all well without dwelling on today's products and exclusives.

As for comparing high end products to gambling and then deducting people are stupid for buying, you are then crossing a line on poopooing what someone else's collecting preferences are. We have many deep pocketed collectors who pour money into NT, Flawless, or Immaculate and then the singles trickle down to more mid end, singles only buyers.

Calling people stupid and comparing this hobby to instead investing in stocks being intelligent is irrelevant in talking cards. All kinds of hobbies out there, both for the big spenders and the bottle cap scrappers.

What's the saying? A fool and his money are easily parted?
