Jersey cards are, well, overproduced to say the least. They are everywhere, and you can get them really cheap.
However Jersey Cards, and hits, were invented in (around) 2000 and the hit invention was done around then. 10 years ago was 2007, and card collecting has faded from many people's memories today. However that does not mean it can not be cool again. I know for many of us pulling a jersey card is not a big event. However to non-collectors it could be. If someone asks you about baseball cards and you get a weird look that you buy them, just say it is fun getting cards with pieces of (insert Sports Star)'s jersey. So back to the point, could we reinvent the wheel (jersey cards/autos) to the public eye? |

I just bought a Syndergaard jersey card off the bay last night.
![]() As long as it's game worn, I'll collect it. I refuse to even look at event worn. It's part of the reason I won't open football anymore.

As long as people still enjoy game used cards, my contest will live on.

Jersey cards are the new base cards.
Autos are the new Jersey cards cards. In the future, autos will be the new base cards. |

I think they should just give up on the plain jersey card. Does anyone like these? To me, they have zero appeal. Give me a patch or nothing at all.

They'd need to cut production of them WAY back, so that maybe no jersey card was ever numbered higher than #/50 or so, and put fewer of them in products. They're just way too common and boring.

Issue one with dirt on the swatch. Maybe I saw that Kipnis commercial on MLB.TV too many times during the WBC, dunno.

Same as with any card, limit number produced. Even base cards are wanted when in limited enough quantities.
Cut back on the presses, simple supply/demand. |

Can completely get rid of all of them altogether as far as I am concerned. Def get rid of event patch, player worn patch at the minimum.
