#46 Bartolo Colon (PR 298) This card was a tuff sell before #57 came out and it still blows my mind that you can buy his SP for cheaper. I mean really there are over 8500 more #57’s then #46.

Respectable_collectibles sell this card for a “respectable” twenty five dollars…I wouldn’t part with mine for anything less than $22 (as proven by the many declined offers on my listing). Now not to throw robomen (Rob) under the bus (he is one of the first friends I made on here) but his card is not the only graded #46 as I have a nice BGS 9.5 on my wall at home…I will give him this though the card is not an easy grade and his PSA 9 looks pretty good to me. I don’t see these moving up or down too much unless Colon hits another homer down in Miami or maybe Topps Now does a Colon #57 anniversary card next year. Of the other Colon cards (there are 6) the above two are “must owns” for the Topps Now collector. All the others can be had fairly reasonable and are borderline commons. The Met/Yankee one is unique (#315) but with a 741 PR it is in no danger of disappearing or being accumulated. For me I watch the #57 and pick up a few now and then because I sold all of my for $35 a pop the first day

and now have a respectable amount in the hoard that didn’t cost me a fortune. (Side note my wife heard I sold them all and bought one from you gougers

for a few hundred dollars...it was/is pethitic and came in a stamped plain envelope without even a penny sleeve) Since I might not get to #57 this week I want to put a shout out to brawlerline a seller with the balls to put SP after his auction on #57! Another card that features Colon that is valuable that I thought was a dud at first is the Throwback Uniform card (#270 PR 401), this card (is) and soon the OS cards featuring award winners will be in high demand…cards featuring multiple players in a regular Topps product play second fiddle to all other cards. Not so Topps Now…we seem to be about Team Collections and if you divide #270 PR of 401 up among the BoSox, Mets, Cubs, Angels, Braves and Reds it cuts the TRUE team master set possibilities down to 66!

(if you take away the number in my hoard, I don’t think there are many TRUE master Cubs sets out there) 

So all you who have “master Cubs sets” if you don’t have #270 Bartolo Colon (O and Addison Russell) you still got one more to get!

#47 We talked about Nomar’s SP already: Someone has one on COMC for $8.07 but I am betting it is not MINT…I had mine up at around $33 but just dropped them off as my_honolulu_blue has some nice BGS 9.5’s up at that price. Better than buying one sight unseen for $15-$20. (This is when Printing started to turn to #@#@#@#@) I think that (the 9.5's are) is a crazy good deal but Mazara has to really hit well for others to become believers.

#48 Bryce Harper & Manny Machado 1st POM card ever! A fairly low PR for Harper (540) and Manny’s 1st appearance: Machado’s best card is hands down BAL-1, with a 160 PR and likely bad corners it is going to be one of his best cards ever printed. This #48 card has always sold well for me, and it seems it is finally drying up. My issue was the edges where fussy and I had pre-sold off most of the good ones (I don't pre-sell anymore) I had and only got 3 reprinted by Topps and even those came back off center. It’s why I didn’t even blink when I bought my_honolulu_bule’s BGS 9.5 for $29 dollars! (Yea me! As #48 was the first hole in my master graded set). Anyway for you PSA collectors, I think the PSA 9’s (that the same seller has up) are only off center which is the biggest problem with this card. Not a bad buy at $9.99 and if you all don’t buy them up I might later this week. I hate PSA but I love a deal! This card is HTF in Gem Mint, and will always be…not sure how respectable_collectables_1998’s look (@ BIN $10.99) but I’d bet that they are not centered. Not throwing stones at the dealer, just saying...see them first. Considering there are only 8 out there to be bought on the bay this card is on the verge of becoming extinct…this is a BUY! SIDE NOTE: A smart reader will realize that my hoard only contains 3 of these (4 counting the new BGS 9.5) and that to me is listed as CRITICALLY LOW (Red on my spread sheet) and normally means I will be buying more soon. So if you have them and they are centered…put them up with photos!

#49 Justin Smoak 252 PR Anyone who knows me knows I hate the Blue Jays…Dam You Joe Carter! But I love Smoak’s face on this card…now that is a baseball card! However the long term collectability of this card besides set collection is iffy. My BGS 9.5 has a 9 edges and it was the best out of 20 I received from Topps. I sent the rest back to be fixed. Not many others bothered so in the end Justin Smoak will be as tuff a grade as #48 just with half the PR but less centering problems. I’m not going to say homeruncards’ $11.95 w/o shipping is a deal without seeing them but it's half what I am asking. If the sides are crisp then you bet I'd buy them under $12...otherwise the hoard desires $30 to loosen his grip on his gems and that is only for now…prices will be going up after the ST set's PR's release or some random time I desire to be cruel. I don’t consider this a SP pricing thing as it is higher than 226 but a soon to be grading issue. Justin has a SP card TOR-8 of only 145 copies (Not that anyone outside of Canada cares)…But Smoak looks to be the Blue Jays everyday starting 1st Baseman this year and that also bodes well for both of his issues.

#50 Lorenzo Cain 280 PR SP…Cain has 3 cards totaling 945 total PR. There was no love for the Royals during sales of anything that didn’t feature an insect...perhaps if the set issued a year earlier.

What I said about the Smoak card for the sides as well as the centering (as it is a horizontal card) that I mentioned on the #48 can be said about this card. Though centering is easier to get passed a grader on this one as it only has the one circle it is still difficult. This is a card where you will most certainly have to deal with me. In my quest to get a decent gradable (all mine...and I bought 40, were crap)

one I bought up everyone that hit the eBay for about a month. Since picking up the #48 10 minutes ago it is now the lowest # I don’t have graded…followed by 51, 52 and 54…It was a bad time for the printers. Thankfully for the hobby and collectors of this set in the distant future I sent back 40 of these to be reprinted. You can have them for $125 a pop or pry them from my cold dead fingers!


As for the other Cain cards I see nothing but up for them…this one here…this one is going to cost you.

While the Bryzzo card captures a monumental historic moment, it's nowhere near as "iconic" as the Griffey / Mantle dual. The Bryzzo card captures a moment, the Griffey / Mantle captures two iconic players in 1 card.

Great info in the thread on the write ups joejoe

Last year I bought at least 5 of ever card from card 1-100... this was my plan from the start of the program. There were some I got 10 of, and a couple I got 20 of as well.

Today I counted up all card I have that currently sell for $35 or more and it is a whopping 168 cards. Granted I have sold a few of the higher priced cards like the Liriano, Royals, Addison Russell 14, and the SP Lackey, but I was astonished at this number.

Go to a game at the stadium with your family or something, take a picture, and make Topps Now custom card with the date indicated.
I think it would be an awesome way to celebrate the event.

This was the greatest World Series ever. Game 7 was the greatest game 7 ever. The moment and the dual auto relic that came from being the greatest World Series ever is greater than two iconic players, IMO.

It's my strong belief, moments are the new way of valuing cards. Just ask any millennial, they value experiences over other things now. That's where we are moving too. And I think that's a good thing.

I wonder if they'd allow a photo of your kids with Kris Bryant or other player to be used, especially if it was taken with your phone. My guess is probably not even though you have right to the photo.

No, they won't. I did a pregame ceremony once on field and they wouldn't do custom cards of it for me because players and umpires were in the photo.
