Yes we know, Trent Dilfer said the same thing two years ago..."Let's face it...the Patriots they just aren't good anymore".

Max Kellerman- ESPN "Tom Brady is just about done. It could be the next game he plays, it could be a year from now, but he is going to fall off a cliff. Tom Brady is going to be a bum in short order"

That clown backpedaled last week, saying he always maintained Brady was already the best ever. I am not sure he ever made that clear, maybe he did, but never has someone on TV been such a prick as it relates to great athletes. That guy is a complete jackass.

yep! Sadly, It's a fact of life. Nothing gold can stay....

He will always be a great QB, one of the best, but as kids grow up, many won't even know who he really is. There are a ton of HOF QBs that mostly older guys who grew up watching them collected. Not many 20 year olds chasing 80s and 90s guys, they just cant relate
I'm a huge Montana fan too! I've got over 500 of his cards, including a PSA 9 Rookie, but my whole collection is mostly from 1980-1995, his last official card.

After that, i'm not really a fan off. 1996 was tribute stuff, and then in 2000, they came back again because of the HOF.

the big cards from his post-playing career to me will always be his very first jersey card, which I nailed for $150 two years ago.

but yes, you're right. Montana autographs aren't expensive anymore, but back then, they were, and the same will eventually happen to Brady. They won't be Montana cheap, but much more affordable than they are now.

Possibly incorrect if he always runs his signings the same way. They would be cheaper if he does what many vets do and sign at shows. I feel like he is less likely to do that, however.

I don't think Brady will ever need the money and resort to selling his auto's for cheap to make an extra few bucks. He's pretty set for life. They may not be $800 but i don't see them ever dipping real low.

We will see, I just don't see him changing his approach with, he will be super busy when he retires with his TB facility and whatever else he chooses to get into. I would say unlikely, but possible as with anything.

Brady won't do public signings, but he'll continue to sign autographs long after he retires.

it's a sad fact now, but that's what these card companies do, they can't let them retire anymore.

and truth be told, 2-3 years after he retires, his autographs will still probably be worth more than any current player or rookie.

I can say that I never got back into all of this for the money, it just so happens that Brady cards have exploded to unprecedented levels. I hope to never have to unload my favorites, but if I had to, it is nice to know they carry a good value. Once in a lifetime opp IMO.

I agree, we're lucky to be Patriot fans. Just like anyone who was a Bulls fan and collected Jordan back in the day etc. I feel very fortunate to have any of his rookie cards and I feel extremely lucky to have such a great player on my favorite team.

no kidding, if he was on any other team I more than likely would never have bought his cards at the price they were going for.

I remember an article about a guy named Joe who was collecting every Brady psa 10 rookie and started around 2010. Winner.

This. Which is why i have to laugh when i see people say "im a huge pats fan" but dont own ANY Brady RCs

Brady RCs were "cheap" for a long long time. Maybe not Contenders and SPA, but his BC was readily available for a long long time.

i bought my Contenders in 2012, because i felt it had room, and i wanted his best available RC

The BC was selling for around $250 before the playoffs, not everyone can afford that, and honestly, I don't think many people are enamored with some of the other rookies, especially the pacific rookies or the practice pictures like in Victory or EX.

I had a lot of those rookies, but they never really interested me. The only ones that did, where the SPA and Contenders.

Had to be under 100. I grabbed a PSA 10 last year for real cheap, like 300. Think I saw some auctions over 1K since the SB.

The real question is how many of you were Patriots fans before 2002?

Bowman regular? Over $100 after SB49.

Chrome was in the $200-250 range, and inched up into the $300 range during the playoffs. Now, a raw version of chrome I think runs around $400.

I've been a 49ers fan since 1990 and a Pats fan since 1992, when they went 2-14, both wins thanks to a QB whose father coached Joe Cool in high school...Scott Zolak.

Yea, $100 isnt all that "much" anymore.

I didn't become a diehard fan until Bledsoe and Parcells came aboard. I'm also a Red Sox, Bruins and Celtics fan. I'm not some out of state bandwagoner. I've come across guys with southern accents who call themselves Pats fans. I just laugh to myself.

We do have our share of phony fans like the Yankees, Bulls, Lakers did. I won't deny that.

I'd actually put the number around 3%.

Just check their asses. If there are permanent marks from the old aluminum bleachers you know they are real fans.
