ah those holoview heroes are so pretty. I unexpectedly picked up the MJ on ebay (threw out my usual "wont win this card" bid and got it) so I'm now tempted to go for the set since I have MJ and Mitch already haha.

Those Holoviews are awesome. The damage on the Big Dog isn't visible as far as I can tell.

That's a weird print run on that Norman Powell. /82? I don't think I've seen an Immaculate base RPA that wasn't /99.

He also didn't have any acetate or /25 versions. He wasn't part of the rookie photoshoot being a mid second round pick and as a result they only got a few jerseys from him.

Thanks a lot, man! 99% of the time I'm fine with 8s, but if 9s are affordable, I try to go for those.

A couple of RC collections I've been working on recently...

No peel, but these were dirt cheap.

More '96 Finest. The Walker is a PSA 10. The AI and Ray were about $8 each, shipping included. The other 2 were significantly cheaper.

My 1998 Chrome RCs so far, all PSA 9. Got the Pierce and VC for under $10 each, shipping included. The rest were cheaper. Not a bad, cheaper alternative to the '96 Chrome set.

Those 96 Finest RCs are sweet. I might still have this Marbury PSA 10 at home, if you want to upgrade your copy. I'm not 100% sure I still have it though.

I probably overpaid for this at $17 but it still fits in the poverty thread. Even with the nicks on the two corners, I really like this design and patch. The blue foil looks great. And I wanted to show it off before I go watch the Pacers in Orlando tonight

^^^ NICE!!! That's a sweet ass patch. Have fun tonight. Hopefully PG13 can pull off his 5th straight 30+ point game and we get the W.

I needed a nice Monta patch for the collection and I didn't want the dual with PG. There was another patch from the set that ended for about $5 cheaper, but I think it was just the straight side part of the "1"

Thanks, smalltown and SteveO. It's fun getting to pick up cards I couldn't afford when I was younger, especially for such great prices.

SteveO - I may take you up on that eventually if I decide to upgrade the whole set. Thanks for the offer!

After yesterday's massive non-poverty pickup, I'm back down to Earth today with a couple of cards that cost me a grand total of $16 including shipping (from 2 different sellers). I really like the concept of the set, and love the fact that they specifically say GAME WORN and even have a specific date listed. Started out just going after the Augustin because I've always been a fan of his. Interesting little tidbit, my mom works in housekeeping. She's got her own little operation and at one time she was cleaning for a couple of the Pacers (DJ Augustin and Ian Mahinmi). She realized Augustin was a basketball player from some things she saw around their place and asked if she could get a picture with DJ to send to me. I was a fan of DJ's prior to him ever playing for the Pacers so when I saw the picture I kinda freaked out a little. She told him that I was a big fan and started telling her all about his career and he thought that was cool. So he asked her what size shoe I was and then gave her 3 pairs of brand new shoes (Jordan brand) to give to me. He also signed an Augustin jersey, from his 1 year with the Pacers, that my mom had bought as well. Overall, just a super nice guy that I became an even bigger fan of once I knew that he was a great person too. My mom said he always treated her great whenever they'd see each other and his wife was extremely nice as well. My wife and I had Christmas cards made that year and gave her one to give to him. Next time she went to their place they had the card displayed. Just really nice, humble people.

Ok, on to the cards.

Love how the backs specifically say the jerseys were worn during the Christmas day games

Great cards, and great story too. I'll always be a fan of DJ because I watched most of his games when he played here at UT. Excellent ball handler and underrated at his position.

Great Augustin story, SteveO. Always nice to hear about athletes who treat their fans right.

Thought it was gonna be a bust at the card show today. Very little 90s basketball. Fortunately one of the reliable vendors had a bunch of basketball he was fine offloading for a poverty price. There was actually quite a bit more stuff I passed on due to condition issues.

All great stuff here! I hadn't seen that E-X die cut set in person before. Now I think I want to go for the set. I love Stadium Club Chrome refractory already, but this Rookie card of the Matrix is especially cool because the photo captures how exciting young Marion was.

Pretty typical 0.50-1 dollar stuff but nice cards all the same.

Great stuff as usual, everybody. SteveO, loved the story. I've learned about a lot of cards I didn't even know existed seeing all these pick ups and stories that accompany cards, whether they be about long chases, or meeting players always add an extra dimension to seeing these great cards get posted!

Those Jaylen Brown's are gorgeous. I also love team-colored refractors.

Thanks for the comments guys. I like hearing stories about why people buy the cards they do, especially when those stories are more than just "itz mojoz bro".

Anyway, got this in today. Took

to get here from The Phillipines. Shipped out on January 8th and I just got it today. Seller also kinda screwed me on the shipping cost. Charged me $4.75 to ship but there's only 125 ($2.52) pesos in postage on the package. The card arrived unharmed though, and that was my main concern after seeing the paper-thin bubble mailer it was shipped in.

man those electric court golds are SO tough to track down- even harder to find one not edged up to heck and back. Solid pickup!

They really can be a bitch to find. I got kinda pissed because right after I bought this one I saw another on ebay that I had completely missed that would have cost me like $3 less.

The edges on this one look really nice. There's some very slight edge chipping along the right edge but you can't see it in this photo. I'm going to get an actual scan of the card tonight.

Myck's images weren't working for me earlier but now they are. I love that Shawn Marion TSC Chrome refractor. That image is amazing! Nice dollar bin finds.

Been in awhile but here's a couple new additions to my collection

Love the Die Cut Status Golds..I pulled one of Melo and one of Paul George late last year when I bought 5 boxes of Elite. Had to have the Russ. $19.30 DLVD

SPX is one of my favorite brands and though this is technically not a rookie card it's Kobe's first SPX Card. $10.85 DLVD

Love the Rookie Cards in Black Diamond and thought this was a pretty card to grab at its price. It's the Double Diamond Parallel to boot. $15.10 DLVD

Myck, that Jam City Shaq was one of the earlier cards I pulled as a kid. Still have it too, that was obviously right in the middle of the CRAZY Shaq hype train. I'm trying to remember what it booked at the time. It wasn't high or anything, but I'm pretty sure there was a time when I highlighted it right in the book, ha.

Nice pickups Chris. That Westbrook is a beauty. I love those Elite die-cuts from that year too. The colors on the different variations really pop. I've got the Gold /24 and Blue /91 variations of Solomon Hill from that year and I love them.
