Right, but that's what I'm talking about. I doubt that other than tennelson manning up and going first, we really aren't gonna see many other submissions until like, an hour or so before the deadline, and I don't think that's very fun - it would have been cool to see the bar get continually raised.

But like I said, awesome contest, and I can't wait to submit mine!

Yeah, let's not overthink this. It's a cool idea to get people off their a**es during the holidays. None of us are Bird looking to 3-peat at the '88 All-Star game.

Hey guys thanks for all of your suggestions.
I will not be changing any rules at this time because we already have our first submission and it's probable that a couple people have already recorded their attempts within the parameters of the original rules, so it would be unfair to them to change that now.

Imma address some of your concerns:

I think it would be more fun if we could keep trying to one-up the people that beat us.
The reason for this is to level the playing field a bit and make it fair for everyone. Not everyone has access to a gym every day - some members have already mentioned they really only have one chance at this, so it would be an unfair advantage for those who are on break and can go to the gym every day. I do see what you're saying, and I do expect everyone to submit their submissions like an hour before the contest ends, but it is what it is.

Really cool contest, I may brave the cold and test my skills!
I will be reviewing all of the top scorers videos after all the submissions are in.

The minimum three-point distance is the high-school three, or the line that meets the top of the half-circle that extends from the free-throw line. Not sure if you're saying your line is 1.5 feet further or closer than that. If the former, that is fine.

I appreciate your first post and I understand what you are saying - it was an unintended consequences of the 1 submission rule. However I explain my reasoning above, but changing this is something I will consider should I do a similar contest next year.

In hindsight I should have started this a week earlier. The reason the deadline is as early as it is is because I will be out of town on a retreat for 2 weeks after Christmas and will have very limited access to a computer. Theoretically I could do this from my phone, but it would be way easier for me to watch and judge all of these videos from my desktop. Plus I just wanted to get this finished and taken care of before I left.

Also since I already see this being a potential problem, I want to emphasize the rule about your feet being visibly behind the 3-point line when you shoot. I will be strict on this rule. I suggest having the camera positioned in a way where the entire line is visible, and also shooting from one spot closer to the camera so your feet are visible.

Good luck ya'll, look forward to the rest of the submissions.

Nice shooting! My video wasn't as many as yours so I'm glad I didn't upload it. You've inspired me to get back into the gym!

Heck. That's going to be tough to beat. If I do 15-20 takes, I might have a chance at it.... but even then, I don't know man. Good shooting.

Great shooting man. There isn't a chance I could get 13 on a good day.
I've got a few friends who are shooters and one friend who is a straight baller who doesn't need to practice. He's like Klay in that when he's on, he's on. When he's off, it's over. He can shoot from almost anywhere from the half court line and under and make it on a 50/50 shot. Fricken stupid as hell how he makes it every time with ease!

I want to see a 1v1 blowout competition in the future.

Yeah, I would've loved to enter the contest but I can't get into a gym until the 31st when we play our alumni game, and sadly, that's past the deadline

Also, who's the guy shooting? Is that ultimate or 12guy? Kind of confusing by how the video goes considering the guy rebounding says it's 12guy and then doesn't shoot...

We went at least 7 years without playing an alumni game until last year when I got one put on again. Us "old guys" (22-28 years old mainly) dropped 115 on the high school team, which should never happen with a bunch of out of shape guys on the court against the in-shape high school team! Granted we gave up 90 points, but that is to be expected haha

We smack the high school team around every year. My class had quite a few go on to college sports, and guys that would have if not for injury

good shooting 12g12.

there's pros/cons to both uploading early and waiting.

because now a lot of people probably just gave up haha.
