In summary, two 0 feedback bidders had taken this up to $9K. There is another 0 feedback bidder with multiple bids and tons of activity with this seller when I last looked this morning. There are also multiple bid retractions, making me wonder if the seller has multiple accounts and was testing the waters to see how far he could shill this up. Of course you have to be a complete moron to do this and think people won't notice.

I was very interested in buying this, but after seeing the shady bids, I will buy the next one!

So, chronologically this story goes:
1. OP hits this really nice card and asks what he can get for it.
2. Said OP puts card online and shills it between two O feedback accounts to $9000 (I just laughed out loud, literally).
3. Said OP relists it, shills it up from the only legit bid of $38 to (allegedly) himself, another zero feedback buyer to nearly $300, about the price he could have gotten back in August when he/she originally posted this?

Is that accurate? This seems like a good effort of time, money, and reputation.

Default We'll I'm back.

Thanks all for your insight. Big Hurt thank you for your investigative work on the card I put up for bid, unfortunately your wrong. I was very disappointed in this auction and for someone to accuse me of shilling this auction is very disappointing as well, but I understand how it looks so let me share. I have been with eBay selling and buying for a long time, I actually contacted eBay during the auction and I had to laugh at them when they told me to just let the auction continue at the high bids. I am the one who deleted those buyers and bids. I did have one legitimate buyer but he backed out at this time. I'm not in a hurry to sell as it is a very nice card and I believe will get a high grade. For your info. Here are the eBay names that put fraudulent bids up. Mikyawke0, cunbange0, dicrodge-0, and cocbuste0, just read the names and you can see it was the same individual that did this. The only thing I came up with was the fact that I had/have one buyer hounding me about buying my card since the very first time I posted it on eBay and I have continued to turn him down. My only thought was he wanted to disrupt the auction and then accuse me of shilling the auction, in doing so trying to convince me to sell the card to him. This individual sent me a message not long after the crazy bids went up, he was willing to buy outside of eBay rules and I declined and won't sell to him, but ultimately that is a guess I hope I am wrong because he has good feedback on eBay. I honestly don't have any other explanation. Anyway I figured it only fair to share info with everyone that has posted on here and let you know I did Not shill this auction, and big hurt - to say that I would be a moron to do that, we'll you are correct. I have contacted eBay again to try and figure out if they can find out who the individual was that did this.
Thanks to all who have shared on here.

I ran through the comments and bid history summary that was posted up. I first thought it was sold at $291 (or whatever the highest legit bid was) and then relisted. Instead, I see where the bids above it were canceled.... $9000 bid, etc. I was too lazy to go back and look at it any more in detail to be honest.

I have had the same thing happen to me with a card at auction. In my case, I'm 99% sure that the 0 feedback bidders were fake accounts, started by a seller who owned a similar card, in hopes of raising the value of his/her card before they listed it. My card was a low numbered parallel as well. The worst part of my situation was seeing the other party's card listed within an hour of my auction ending. They had bid my card up to a ridiculously high price by the end of auction. Of course, no payment was received. I reported the 0 FB buyer and Ebay did nothing at first. Luckily, this clown pulled the same bs with another seller and ebay shut the account down.

I'm not saying that the OP is innocent of any wrongdoing. What I am saying is that he very well might be. These scams are increasing exponentially on the bay.

This is why I co-sign all my cards that are over $100. There are just so many shady people on ebay--it's just not worth the effort.

Not accusing the OP or anyone else on here of shenanigans!!

Hey...first sorry for the accusation if everything you say is true. I appreciate you going into detail letting us know what happened. Like someone else said, it could also be someone who has another one trying to inflate the value artificially or it could be someone trying to disrupt your sale as you pointed out. Anyway, good luck with whatever you decide and please accept my apology.

This is a stand up response!!

And OP hope things work out for you on that card, what happened to you is something that's happening more often than not on ebay.

Default Thanks again

Just wanted to say thanks to all the replays and responses, big hurt, I appreciate it and of course accept your apology. Like I said I totally understand how it looked but wanted to make sure everyone knew my side as well. there are a lot of good collectors and good people on here, as well as on eBay buying and selling everyday but unfortunately like everything there are always some bad apples.
Good luck to all
