So while all high end (actually all boxes/cases) are risky and probably average about 30-40% of box prices in value at most, this year's Immac has taken it to a whole new level.

I am talking about today's high-end. This "hit or miss" setup will continue. I don't expect Panini will focus on the $100-$500 range card anymore.

Saw some of these pics on their instagram page... the dual logoman auto design is superb, SO glad they got rid of the booklet dual logoman auto.

That quad is going to be incredible. I hope the Kobe/Shaq/West/Magic quad is live!

Immaculate and NT have always been really hit or miss.

Problem with immaculate this year is with the price going from 400 to 700 a box even you need to hit something absolutely huge to not get destroyed.

You could hit a curry premium patch auto and Kat rpa and still do badly.

Granted I wouldn't sweat the roi if you like opening but it's unfortunate that NT and immaculate seem to be becoming more and more of singles products as so many of the cards that come out of them aren't desirable at all.

For those saying the entire hobby is about roi now I think the big thing is that if a product costs a certain amount and the cards come in way under expectation it's hard to have fun. You may not ever expect a great return on the money you risk but the hope is that the cards look nice and you at least get something back. Not sure how many people will have fun opening a case that cost 3k if they're 2/3 the way through and their best card is a plain auto that might go for 100$

Was going to maybe take the gamble on a case of immaculate instead used my 10% eBay bucks bonus for a case of noir for 1300 after bucks.

Anyone hear about the card's condition coming out of the pack? I know in past years, the corners weren't sharp. I already saw a plain jersey card of Derrick Williams on ebay from this year's immac that says the corners are damaged. Anyone seen this also?

This is what I was pretty much getting at and why I posted this to begin with. I'm not a flipper. I love busting boxes and I 100% know the risk when buying boxes, but it's fun, but to me even at the $400 price point to get a box with jersey cards of Marcus Morris and Thaddeus Young (no offense to those guys, but to me if you're going to have plain jersey swatches in this high end set at least just keep it to stars of the league) and a Sticker Bernard King auto (and those are 3 of the 5 hits), as a collector, not investor, I'd be very disappointed in getting those cards for a product like this. Again, I don't expect a quad auto, hot rookie patch, logoman in every box, but I also would hope 3/5th of my box hits wouldn't be low level hits that are more acceptable in a product like Hoops or Donruss.

Not that it changes anything but the Morris dual is actually a one color patch. You'll see plenty of those due to the small windows.
