So basically the Collectors Boxes are a really crappy Hobby Box, and the Retail Racks/Blisters are an absolutely atrocious retail product?

That about sums it up. Not a winner.

Probably the same person that messaged me on Ebay less than 5 minutes after it was listed. LOL

I would say Collectors boxes are right on par for retail hobby (bad coallation but hey heres your 2 autos), the blasters are just a crap shoot( 2 base and 2 tp and little chance of either inserts or color) and the rack packs are OK (not so much for color but are great for finishing a set w/ 4 base, 4 tp and 1 of each subset per pack. This has been my experience with busting 8 racks, 4 blasters and 1 hobby.

Still think the collectors boxes are the way to go and still a decent value. They are essentially the same as hobby platinum boxes the past 3-4 years minus an auto relic.

The plus though is it has the first year autos of Moncada, Bregman, and Vladdy. No repeat prospect autos of your top 3 chase cards.

Given how rare the collectors boxes have been (judging from eBay listings and breaks), if all the color are in these, over the long term these would be good holds. Older platinum hobby boxes move in the $110-$120 range.

I'm trying to find a way to talk myself out of buying the other 6 that I've found...eh it's tough. I just know there is a Moncada low numbered color auto in one of them! And I can see these things drying up and eventually being sought after.

I have bought 4 blasters. One auto in 2 of them (Weaver&McGuire) and a Green /99 Brinson in another. Only shutout in one box so far. Sitting on 2 collector boxes right now.

I'm not going to keep rushing to the two Walmarts in my area anymore just to be disappointed so I guess I'll have to go the E-bay route.

I bought a Jorge Mateo autograph there last night.

found 4 blasters and 5 fat packs today but no collector boxes. Left the blasters but grabbed the 5 fatties.

Pretty happy with the results. Pulled 2 Moncada's (Top Prospect & Next Generation Prospect), Bryant Next Generation, and a Jose Fernandez 29/250

Were there hobby boxes or just blasters and rack packs at Toys R Us?

Saw 3 blasters at k-mart tonight. Didn't get them. Not at $23 each.

A bunch of the 2 auto boxes are showing up on ebay. I think this is one of those situations where people are buying them before they hit the shelves, and they are trying to capitalize on the so called "limited supply" by flipping the boxes. I'll bet in a month or two, there is going to be a massive dump of these boxes.

I've busted 11 Blasters and not one auto. IMO stay away from the Blasters. I've not seen any of the Collectors boxes though.

$220 in blasters and not one auto?! Ouch. Sorry bud. Product is terrible. Still not understanding why anyone is driving around anywhere looking for this garbage. To each their own though.

Because of the perceived rareness but mark my words at some point probably just in time for the holidays Topps will announce they will be selling complete sets with some special limited edition color on their website.

Luckily, my Walmart only had fat packs (historically I've spent way too much on Platinum) so I grabbed the first seven and left the rest. I'm ok with hitting a low numbered parallel for what I had in on it.

don't think $500+ is out of the question especially if you get a couple fools in a bidding war

So who's buying all the $70 boxes in my area? Four stores and only the price stickers on the shelves. All I would want is one box to break.

I gave up on my local Walmarts and ended up winning a complete set on E-bay today.
