Personally my expectation is that politicians will lie. Hell my expectation is that nearly everyone will lie. Especially when the person continually says "believe me", "trust me", "honestly". It is very very low on my requirements.

Joking is an excuse made when a child is caught in a lie. He was not joking. He was not being sarcastic. He is so oblivious that he didn't realize he was actually asking a foreign nation to commit espionage and when he was caught he acted like a child.

Saying you were joking when you clearly weren't is lying. The fact you take his word as truth is scary. The dudes the biggest lying scum out there. He's so unfit to be President he didn't even realize how crazy the comments he made yesterday were until he was told. And since he's a coward he will never admit he made a mistake. No, Trump only boasted about being able to kill an American citizen in Times Square and still not lose the vote of people like you. Trump does not know how to protect America. This is exactly correct. Trump doesn't necessarily intend harm with the stupid things he says. He simply doesn't know enough about any of these subjects to even be discussing them, so the more he wings it, the more likely disaster is to follow. Earlier in this thread, at the outset of the DNC, I wrote that all Trump had to do was keep his mouth shut for a few days and let the media do nothing other than needle Democrats over the content of their hacked emails and further enflame the Sanders supporters.

I wrote that he would not be able to do that. Sure enough, right in the middle of the convention, Donald made that crack about the Russians and put himself right back into the soup, and took the spotlight off of the DNC emails. Trump is out of his element here, and cannot possibly learn what he needs to know in the limited time left before the election. Hillary has lived it.

I can't wait for the debates, but again, I do think Trump will try to find a way out of them.
